After School Athlete's After School Enrichment programs are roughly half athletic and half academic in nature. Kids are provided a caring, nurturing, healthy environment to learn and develop socially, physically, and mentally. Designed by a brain doctor and UW professor, and his wife a math and science teacher, programming is everything you would want your kid(s) to be doing. Sports include competitive soccer, dodge ball, handball, basketball, kickball, yoga, Zumba, cross-fit, among other physical education activities. Academic programming includes supervised time to do homework, gamified learning on tablets, "Brain Games" like chess, problem-solving based math and science projects, group or free reading time on tablets, and "Curious Questions." Where there is demand, optional formal tutoring, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Spanish for English speakers can be made available for an additional fee. Programming begins when school's dismissed and end at 6PM. As a program, we strive to be all you could hope your child to experience before and after school. Helping your kids do well on their homework, explore their academic curiosities, and participate in competitive sports. Then when you pick your kids up at the end of your day, you don't have to worry about time helping them with their homework, taking them to additional sport-related or academic extracurricular (at an additional expense), but instead can focus on quality time with your family knowing they have an enriched childhood. I however, have been a private nanny for several years and I have a 3 year old son. Charlene has a 9 year old daughter and has spent a great amount of time taking care of children belonging to friends and family. We are located in Renton, Washington. We accept parents on the WA DSHS subsidy program. We participate in a USDA Food Program. We are focused on toddlers age 1-5 and we have a pre-school program geared toward those ages. We are open 6am-6pm Monday through Friday and we have 2 nights a week that we call "Dinner and PJ's Nights" where for an additional cost per usage, parents can extend day-care hours until 8 pm. We also offer bi-monthly Parent's Friday Nights Out (sleep-over or until 10 pm) for additional costs per usage as well. Charlene and I both adore children and have developed our program based on what we always wanted out of a pre-school and care provider for our own children! We go outside everyday, we do arts and crafts, and we really focus on learning! We go to the library, we read to the kids, we do the alphabet, counting, colors, shapes, language and social skills! Our goal is to have school-ready kids leaving our day-care for kindergarten!
