My philosophy of child care is for the parents who work full-time jobs and looking for a safe, loving, and interesting environment for their kids as well as develop basic learning skills in terms of sensory, cognitive, social, emotional, and language skills. I follow Reggio Emilia's learning approach. I take ages 1 and up. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, five days a week. I provide full week, half week, full-day, half-day, after school, and drop-in care. My daycare has a very nice secure backyard for the kids to play and explore nature. I personally am a nature lover so I prefer children to learn about environment, birds, trees, and gardening and I believe if we teach children to love nature they grow up to be kind and loving. I am a very good book reader for little children and they enjoy the way I read books to them. I do different creative crafts with the kids where their involvement is appreciated. We will be able to identify shapes, count from 1 to 20, compare and classify objects. We will work both independently and in group activities. Social and emotional growth is amazing as they prepare to move on to their next school experience. We continue to offer Learning Center experience and our teacher directive curriculum becomes more structured, to allow projects that can extend over days. With teacher directive projects, the curriculum challenges the students to find answers, problem solve and use the learning centers to continue with hands on experiences in areas of literacy, math and science.
