I was the neighborhood babysitter when I was young, and then a live in nanny for 5 years after High school. I was a Teachers assistant for visually impaired children 3-18 years of age. I taught braille and life skills to these special children. The best training... I have been the mommy of 4 great kids for almost 20 years! I have first aid training for children, and CPR certified. (this was required for my teaching job) I have been trained to work with kids who have multiple disabilities, and how to handle kids when they need their attention redirected when they are upset. I am a big believer in daily activities, arts and crafts, games, reading time and play time. Limited TV time happens here! I provide breakfast (when needed) lunch, and snacks .( All food must be approved by parents so we make sure we don't have any allergy problems) I love little people, and I will treat your little one just like they were one of my own. At Kids Will Be Kids Family Daycare, children have lots of time to play and develop their imaginations. Through playtime, we also work to help them to develop social skills so they learn how to get along with each other and to solve disagreements between them. We do preschool every morning for children below school age and we learn our letters, numbers, colors, the weather, as well as working on arts and crafts projects which they can take home with them. I also read the story of their choice to the young ones just before nap time. I work with children in the age range of two months to 12 years of age. School age children are welcome to do their homework after they return from school--and we are ready to help them if they ask. We celebrate the major holidays with arts and crafts projects, and for both Father's Day and Mother's Day the children make special gifts for their parents. Every child's birthday is a special event and so I provide a gift for the birthday child and a cake to share with everyone. My rates are competitive, my hours are flexible, and I am licensed by the State of Washington. I provide nutritious meals, preschool during the school year, and lots of opportunity to grow in a fun and safe environment. School children are transported to and from Mullenix Ridge Elementary School by me or a trained staff member. Everyone in my family has had a background check and we are all CPR/First Aid certified. Children are very special and finding a daycare provider you can trust with your child is important. You want to feel comfortable when you go to work, knowing that your child is safe, happy and wanted. I am proud of the environment that I provide for the children in my care and I am equally appreciative of the children and families that I have the opportunity to work with.
