A little about me:

I love children and my dream had always been to open up my own Christian daycare facility. My baby grandson, has been my biggest inspiration. As the Owner and Director of Eric's Place, I bring 16 years of experience to the table, Continuing Education Credits in Early Childhood Education, and a lifetime of experience working with all ages. In addition, I am fully licensed through the Washington State Department of Early Learning, earning my certificates in CPR/First Aid, HIV/Bloodborne Pathogens, and Safe Food Handling, as well as the 20 hours of mandatory childcare training.

A little about us:

I offer a safe, loving, educational environment at a very reasonable and fair tuition. I limit my class size to six students, specifically so that each child receives my devoted attention. Children thrive in environments where they can explore and learn but also have structure. My goal is to create a space that feels like home, where they can learn and grow at their own pace. I use the Montessori and play-based methods of learning. Our activities and schedule blend these two methods. I provide a space where children can learn throughout the day. We practice life skills and child-guided free play. I introduce topics and let the children's interests and curiosity guide where we go and how long we remain on each topic. Every activity is age-appropriate for each child. I foster learning and growth in everything we do throughout the day. Each day we take walks, sing, play, read, do arts and crafts, play outdoors, and listen to and create music. I will also have Montessori-type works for the children to explore. This allows them space and time to grow their life skills and strengthen their development.

I try to ensure children are outside at least once a day. Our outdoor space includes a sandbox, water table, and other outdoor toys. There are two parks within walking distance, one of which is accessible from our backyard. There is a playhouse and lots of outdoor toys for the children to enjoy in the fully fenced backyard. We like to explore nature and are always building bug houses, painting the fences for the birds, and watering all the plants!

I have over twenty years of experience in child care, and I look forward to many more. I offer care for children ages one month to 12 years old. There are openings for full-time, part-time, before and after-school as well as drop-in care. I provide healthy organic lunch and snacks everyday. I encourage the children to help prepare the meals and snacks, as well as bake with them, and show them how to clean up their plates. They all love it! Please contact me with any questions or inquires. I look forward to hearing from you!
