Seeking care for my mother in her 90s. Services needed: companionship, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be pleasant, reserved. My mother is 93, has macular degeneration (legally blind), has right hip degeneration and uses a walker, has a fib and takes several medications which need to be dispensed to her. She wants to be independent and sometimes does everyday tasks that she should wait for help with ( putting on support stockings and shoes that tie and one which has a foot brace inserted for a drop foot condition, for example). She really likes to be on her own, so just checking on her and giving her help when needed would be all that is required. I'm looking for someone who is patient, quiet, outdoorsy. The ideal caregiver for her would be one that can anticipate her needs and wants and would be there to help without her having to ask (because she even hesitates to ask me for help!). Also, she enjoys sitting out side on our deck or in a swing in the yard( which someone would have to walk her to), but does not enjoy someone hovering over her... conversation:yes, but not constant companionship. At the present time, she is personally independent ( getting dressed on her own as long as the clothes are put out for her: eyesight issue), but needs assistance with showering. We live in the country, so there is no walking anywhere. She walks around her living space and may go up and down stairs each day with assistance for exercise.
