Seeking Full-time Senior Care Provider

Full Time
About who needs care: My father has dementia and needs constant observation. He does tend to leave the house and wander. He will need complete 24/7 care. I will supply locks, door alarms and baby monitors. This includes meal preparation, medication administration, laundry. I would need someone to transport and accompany him to Dr. Appointments as he is completely dependent on others. He walks and does not need any physical help, except for occasional assistance with dressing and showering due to his confusion. He does have a degree of aphasia, so the ideal caregiver would be experienced and be able to anticipate his needs and how to handle frustration. The caregiver will have their own private room and can be furnished if needed. The salary is $400 per week plus Room and Board. A $50 per week gas allotment will also be provided as caregiver will need to use their private vehicle. I will supply a cell phone that the caregiver can use however they see fit so long as it does not interfere with my father's care and serve as a open line of communication regarding issues with my father. I will fill the pill box every week and caregiver will just need to ensure the medications are being given on time. I will have a home health aide come into the home twice weekly as respite relief. The caregiver will have every other weekend off, holidays off and two weeks paid vacation per year. (After 6 months) In the event my father will need skilled nursing and have to transition into a facility, the caregiver will have no less that 60 days (30 paid) to find new accommodations as the apartment will need to be vacated. About the care needs: Very patient and understanding. Ability to redirect and de-escalate frustrated/ inappropriate behaviors. They must have training/ experience with dementia. The ideal caregiver will be an active person that enjoys the outdoors and going for walks. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
