Full Time
About who needs care: Currently in a hospital bed but not necessarily bedbound. The goal is to get her walking. Currently she is in diapers but we have a bedside commode for when she's ready for that. She is signed up for the Lift service so no need for the caregiver to transport her to appointments (although that would be really helpful!!). She is also receiving at-home physiclal therapy to move her toward the goal of walking. Various chores will need to be done such as prepping food, giving meds 4x a day, running laundry, running the dishwasher, refilling drinks as needed, etc. Her diaper gets changed 2-3 times a day, we have gloves, wipes, diapers, and plastic bags all to be used for this task. Caregiver must be comfortable with transferring from bed to wheelchair/commode and back. I have a planner that will be utilized to coordinate our schedules as well as a phone application to update a work schedule. She loves Diet Cranberry Ginger Ale and reading, although most of the time the TV is on. Before her injury she loved gardening and crafts. Not to say that she doesn't still love those things, it has just become much more difficult since she has come home. A caregiver that is willing to go above and beyond might help me clear out the rest of her house as she is a hoarder and loves her shopping and deals, but in order for her to safely navigate the house in the future, it will need to be taken care of. This is not necessarily a requirement, as it is a project I will be taking on myself, but help would be much appreciated.
About the care needs: Caregivers who are patient, diligent, and problem solvers preferred. Need them to be comfortable with technology and their issues. Need to be able to transfer from bed to wheelchair/commode. If you're interesting in sewing, wreath making, wood building, gradening, DIY, baking, saving money, and/or reading then you're going to get along with my grandmother just fine. She's got a sharp memory for 71, and has a very go-to attitude when it comes to her recovery.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
