I am a young-at-heart grandmother with lots of energy. I have my CPR certification for adults, children and babies. I took a five-year hiatus from the corporate world of work while we lived on Maui from 2006 to 2011. During 2008-2009, I did set up a day care in our home. I enjoyed it very much. I only did it for a year, but it was the most fun I ever had while working. We have now moved to the San Tan Valley. I've only done one year of paid child care, but I've put 10 years as the answer on this screen as it's the highest number in the answer section regarding experience. The correct answer is actually much higher. We had children at home -- developing and learning -- for 27 years. I am offering day care or evening care in our home which is near the corner of Bella Vista and Gantzel Road (San Tan Valley) in a Johnson Ranch subdivision. I have openings for four children during the day or evening, but I might decide to only take one or two children long-term (or one infant) depending on ages and circumstances. During the day, I am teaching basic pre-kindergarten material to the children combined with art projects and circle reading time. Play activities, singing and dancing interspersed with the joy of discovering and learning about the many wonders of this beautiful world will round out every day.

I teach with a mix of traditional curriculum and Montessori techniques. We will do phonics, letter recognition, math numbers and sorting, addition and subtraction. We will also do days of the week, months of the year, science planting and gardening, and some fun baking and cooking. I do the majority of my teaching the Montessori style with hands on activities.
