Although I haven't actually had any experience with seniors, I have had experience with care giving almost all my life. I was sole caregiver for my special needs son until his death in 1973 and then helped with my husband who was a quadriplegic until his death in 2003. I'm a firm believer in home care vs nursing homes and actually enjoy being around "senior" citizens as I have became one myself. I am 60 years young and feel that I can relate to people in their "golden" years. I am currently taking care of a special needs young woman from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday and would be looking for something early in the morning before I go to take care of her. CPR and First Aid certificated.
I have been a care giver for over 30 years, first to my own special needs child, and then 23 years with my husband until his death in 2003. He was a incomplete quadriplegic. For the last 5 years I have taken care of a young woman who is Autistic, has Turners Syndrome and is mental retarded. Her father has retired and is taking over her care.
