At Mad Scientist Camp, we dive deep into the world of science to see exactly what happens when curiosity takes over. Campers will spend part of their day working with crazy concoctions and exploring the mysterious ways the world works. From fizzing reactions to strange, swirling mixtures, it’s time to get messy and get curious. We provide the space for big ideas and even bigger results all in the name of science. If your child loves to mix it up and see what happens, this is the camp they’ve been waiting for! The other part of their day your camper will join Playwell Teknologies in Minecraft Master Engineering using LEGO® Materials (No prior knowledge of Minecraft needed) Bring your favorite Minecraft adventures to life with our enthusiastic Play-Well instructors. In a Minecraft world powered by LEGO® resources, we will build shelters to keep out Creepers, craft mystical items that only true masters can wield, and perfect our crossbow skills to stop the Wither from taking over! If you can imagine it, we can build it.All of the camps come together for lunch, recess breaks, and special events. Our aftercare at camp runs from 3:00pm-4:00pm the charge is an additional $15 a day, if your child is not picked up by 3:05pm they will automatically be checked into aftercare and we will charge the card on file. Aftercare after a long camp day is definitely a time for decompression and may include board games and/or educational films. We also combine all campers at this time including our JK/TK and Kindergarten camp. All camps will run contingent upon a certain number of campers signing up. If your camp is cancelled, you will be notified at least 30 days prior. We may also combine the 1st and 2nd grade camps with the 3rd-6th grade camps if there is low enrollment. Cancellation Policy: Registrations canceled at least 30 days prior to the start of camp will receive a full refund. Registrations canceled 15-29 days prior to camp will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 14 days of the start of camp will not be refunded. Please wear sunscreen and bring a jacket daily because we never know what coastal weather will bring. Campers are required to bring a lunch, snack and water bottle daily.

Ninjas will code and print their own custom models, including fun and functional items like bubble wands and keychains. As they embark on this creative adventure, they will learn invaluable tips, cool techniques, and best practices for exciting explorations in 3D modeling and printing.

Kitchen Scientists combines hands-on experiments with fun cooking challenges, giving campers the chance to explore chemistry, microbiology, and biochemistry through tasty creations. From observing crystals to testing enzymes, making butter, and even creating ice cream, campers see science in action while preparing real food. Whether they love cooking, experimenting, or discovering how everyday ingredients work, campers will gain confidence applying scientific concepts in the kitchen and end the week with a friendly cook-off. All Summer Campers receive a free TCSL t-shirt!

Outdoor field games in local area parks daily, swimming twice weekly, kayaking and rock climbing once weekly each. We spend the first and last hour of the day inside doing arts and crafts, STEM projects, and indoor sports such bowling and ping pong. The rest of the morning and afternoon we are outdoors doing field games and traditional activities utilizing local area parks. Swim is on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week during the morning session. Kayaking is Wednesdays during the morning session, weather permitting. Rock climbing is on Fridays. We are open rain or shine, during inclement weather and poor air quality days we spend more time inside doing crafts, indoor sports and other activities. Hot lunch and healthy snacks are included, the menu is sent out the preceding Sunday of the week. Same-day Registration costs an additional $15. Accompany unregistered children up the stairs for same day registration. Discounts do not stack with other discounts, you will receive the best discount available to you at check out.

Throughout this action-packed week, Ninjas will embark on a journey to discover the secrets of app development using the super-cool MIT App Inventor. They'll experience the thrill of crafting apps from scratch, the satisfaction of navigating the tech-savvy interface like a pro, and the fun of testing creations on a variety of devices with the app emulator. For their grand finale, kids step into the app developer role and let their creativity take the lead. Using the dynamic design thinking process, they'll craft their very own custom app, bringing their unique visions to life.

Students will assume the role of a veterinarian and learn how to perform a nose-to-tail exam, the importance of proper nutrition, perform a tick check, and identify animal body language. Each student will take home their own stuffed animal dog that they will adopt along with tape measures, dog journal, dog bone cookie cutter and so much more! In our STEM LEGO® class we use LEGO® bricks to teach concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through a play-based model of learning. Kids construct a unique model each week using project instructions and LEGO kits. All models are interactive and classes are thematically linked to deepen and support a child’s understanding and vocabulary for STEM concepts. Each session covers new topics/subjects. Topics and discussions are geared for 2nd through 5th graders. Free-play time rounds outs the class giving our students an opportunity to develop their creativity.

Pizza party dinner will be included, as well as multiple arts and crafts, and a big, instructor-led project! $40 for the first child and $35 for additional siblings.
