*Mid-session registration: If you are signing up AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THIS SERIES OF 9 CLASSES, email info@marvegos.com about a possible project conflict before you arrive for class.* Designed for students ages 10 to 12, the Expanded Fundamentals program bridges the gap between Fine Art Fundamentals and Advanced Exploration. It builds on foundational techniques while offering more opportunities for independent decision-making. Prior completion of Fine Art Fundamentals isn’t required, but familiarity with basic art concepts is recommended. All students new to Expanded Fundamentals will receive a notification to sign up for a one-time, prerequisite Online Form Class, which must be completed by the third week. This class teaches students about form, values and composition. If your child has already completed this class as part of Fine Art Fundamentals, they do not need to take it again.

Hilltop Creative is nestled in Bernal Heights. Our space is aesthetically beautiful and calming for our days together. We are excited to spend the week being creative, building community and long lasting friendships. We see better sleep, cognitive function and overall well being in ourselves. Here is a bit about our camp days: Drop Off is from 9am-9:30 and pick up is between 2:30-3 pm. During our days together at Hilltop Creative Summer Camp we will start our mornings off with free exploration, morning greetings, snack and an indoor creative activity. We will have outdoor time on neighborhood hikes and also will visit our local playgrounds and recreational areas Bernal Heights, Holly Park and St Mary's. Towards the end of the day we will gather indoors and will have an afternoon snack provided by Hilltop Creative. Our ration is 1:6and we do not go over 12 campers. Embark on an exciting robotics adventure as students build and code imaginative creations like the Majestic Lion, Sea Turtle, and Alien Capture. Using LEGO® motors, sensors, and an easy drag-and-drop coding interface, they'll explore engineering, problem-solving, and creativity through hands-on STEM challenges in every class. Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Critique & Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the instructor and peers in a supportive and open environment to enhance their artistic process and growth. Who This Class Is For: Both new and continuing students. Teens ages 12-17 who are eager to create art more independently but want guidance, structure, and inspiration from a teacher. Students interested in experimenting with different art forms and techniques. Young artists who want to develop their skills and explore personal projects.

Get ready to ROCK OUT and shine! Dancers will learn the basic techniques of hip-hop listening to their favorite songs, K-Pop included! Kids will increase in flexibility, stamina, and rhythmic ability while boosting their self-esteem. Perform in a dance show wearing Popstar costumes on the last class. Our coaching staff will teach the proper first steps to scoring touchdowns, pulling flags, learning routes, teamwork, and so much more. This program builds confidence, coordination, and a love for the game while keeping everything age appropriate and exciting. All players will receive an official jersey so they can get a true taste of the Hi-Five Flag Football Kinder League launching next year. This is where football journeys begin. Try a regularly scheduled Marvegos class! Your child will join currently enrolled students and participate in whatever project the class is working on that day, giving them a firsthand look at the Marvegos approach. Unlike our Free Introductory Lessons, Free Trial Classes do not include a parent presentation. This is a drop-off class, and parents should return for pickup at the end of the lesson. Free Trial Classes are offered in a limited selection of regularly scheduled classes based on availability. Not all classes on our regular schedule are available for a free trial. Depending on the project, artwork may not be completed in one lesson or may need to be picked up at a later date.

New policy to discourage no shows: a fee will be charged when you register and refunded to you when you attend class. We know that things come up, but a simple email, call or text (571-250-7719), even right before class starts, will get your fee back if you can't attend. Emphasis will be on practicing fine motor skills, language development, and socialization. After listening to a beloved story, you and your child will work with different media to make a craft that will help make a connection to the story. Expect to spend at least an hour and a half for each Playgroup: -30 minute structured class where fine motor skills are practiced -Playtime to encourage social interaction -Snacks/Lunch eaten together as a class (please bring your own food)

Where they are: Babies are just getting comfortable being out of the house and beginning to explore! What to expect in class: Our sensory baby play classes use song, movement, infant signing, puppets, fibre optics, bubbles, musical instruments and baby-sized apparatus. You’ll learn a variety of ways to play with your newest little bundle of joy. Non-mobile babies are exposed to sensory baby play, songs, and the beginnings of social play. Meet like-minded parents while our expert teachers lead you through nurturing exercises and activities that stimulate your baby’s brain development. The first stepping stone to sparking a love of learning!

Children are given free range to explore the set-ups, with their adults within a hug’s reach. Let your child take the lead and run out some wiggles!

This class is for beginning - intermediate level students. Beginning students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and opening to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze their pieces before the final firing. Intermediate level students will be encouraged to take on projects that expand their skills while exploring individual creativity in clay. Projects may include working with larger pieces, more complex forms, creating sets, and experimenting with surface design. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.

All children benefit from a space to be creative. Children are eager to explore different mediums, textures, and ways to express themselves. What to expect in class: Sculpt with playdough, create a collage, or experiment with different mediums. Get creative with puppets and dramatic play; and let the inspiration flow making one-of-a-kind works of art! Physical Benefits: Working with different textures supports sensory input, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Cognitive Benefits: Creating your own work supports confidence and problem-solving skills.
