Owing much to his upbringing in a musical family, Daniel continued his musical studies through private lessons and by playing in various ensembles including orchestras and worship groups. After high school, the decision was made to pursue his college degree in music performance ultimately earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in classical guitar performance and studio/jazz guitar performance respectively. Daniel's favorite thing about music is that it has always been a source of happiness and he takes great care to ensure that his student's efforts are directed towards acquiring the skills and tools they need to be able to play the music that they love. Daniel's studies in various instruments and across multiple styles and genres, afford him the ability to assist students in their musical journey whatever that may entail, be it reading music notation, exercising proper technique and form, or learning music theory. Formal Education: M.M. Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance B.M Classical Guitar Performance Performing Experience: I have been performing since a very young age. Before I was even a teenager I was playing the cello with the orchestra at the local community college as well as various recitals organized by my instructors. I played in the orchestra from elementary all the way through high school and then periodically from then on whenever they needed additional musicians. I also played the trumpet in the concert band at the same community college through junior high school and part of high school. While in junior high school, my brother and I began playing with our church's youth band and we did that up until I left the area for college. While pursuing my Bachelor's degree, I performed extensively through the school of music where I was studying classical guitar as well as professionally with various colleagues mostly with small jazz ensembles and occasionally big band gigs. I also performed classical music at the occasional wedding with my sister who was enrolled at the same school of music. After graduating I performed as much as possible in the southern california area with a group of friends and classmates doing mostly jazz standards. Then I relocated to Los Angeles for graduate studies and performed as much as possible through the school of music at USC. Upon graduating I have been working as a freelance musician ever since although the gigs dried up with covid and since then I have been mostly teaching and recording with my band. I love to perform and I believe it is the cherry on top of the already incredible experiences that simply playing music brings. Rom's Music Lessons (Drum)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Manchaca, TX

Years of Experience: 20 Location Options: In Studio Travel Radius: 10 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Acoustic, Christian, RB, Gospel, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Drum Lessons Overview: My name is Rom and I’m the drummer for the band Seek Irony. My band and I are originally from Tel Aviv, Israel and we recently relocated to our new home base of Austin, TX. I was granted a special visa based on my talent under the title Aliens with Extraordinary abilities/ O1. At the end of 2016, I was approved for a Green Card based on my achievements during the time since I moved to the US. In 2016 I became an official Dixon Drums and Sabian Cymbals Artist. In 2018 I became an Official HumsBerg Cases artist. Updated Seek Irony's EPK for all the links and info about the band- I’ve been playing drums since I was eight years old. I recorded my first demo when I was ten and played my first show at a club in Tel Aviv at the age of eleven. I graduated from the jazz music department of Israel’s most prestigious high school of the arts, Thelma Yelin. Apart from being the drummer for Seek Irony, I have been working as a professional session drummer and as a drum teacher for over ten years in Israel and the US. I used to play drums for half of the music industry in Israel before I moved to the US 5 years ago. So far, I’ve recorded drums on over fifty records and performed over a thousand shows in my drumming career. As a teacher, I worked for two of the major music schools in central Israel, and these days I teach 15 students a week at my studio. I'm very proud to be a teacher for kids with special needs. I am the co-owner of a recording studio in Austin called Evil Snail Studios. Right before moving to the US, I was asked to record drums for a special musical project on a song that involved Israel and China’s top singers and was meant to celebrate a twenty-year anniversary of diplomacy between the two countries. The song was recorded half in Tel Aviv and half in Beijing. A year later this song ended up picking up a Grammy-like award for “Best Original Duet of 2012” in China, which was an amazing surprise and definitely a highlight of my drumming career so far. Seek Irony's album, "Tech N Roll" had been released independently on Feb 5th, 2015. The album's release was celebrated in front of a SOLD OUT crowd at the highly respected Red 7 venue in Austin, TX. Since then, Seek Irony's debut album has been collecting raving reviews all across the board. The band's first produced music video for their single "Devil In Me" was premiered on "Revolver Magazine" and got support from top peers as the notorious Motorhead shared and retweeted "Devil in me"'s video premiere throughout all their social media sites. Following the video's successful premiere, I was featured on Modern Drummer's online Vlog performing "Devil in me" at "Evil Snail Studios". In the winter of 2016, Seek Irony won the "Outstanding album of the year" award as part of the North American Independent Rock Music Awards. Seek Irony signed to Silver Lining Music. Formally known as UDR records / Warner Bros and re-released the album worldwide on September 29th, 2016. Since moving to the US, I’ve recorded drums for numerous American artists in different genres, from country to rock, metal, blues, and EDM. I’ve had the privilege to play live for amazing songwriters and performers. "It’s an amazing thing to have my own brand, to create my own music, and yet at the same time, I am also able to support other artists. I think that music is all about inspiring people and being inspired by the musicians you play and share the stage with." "As a session drummer, I first put my focus on preparation, walking the extra mile for the client, learning the music material quickly and efficiently beforehand, so I can perfectly perform my part without wasting the client's valuable time during rehearsals and studio recordings. At the same time, I'm a very easygoing person. I think it's very important to be fun, easy to work with, and I try to bring the extra attention towards creativity in order to bring the added value to the project I'm taking part in." "As a teacher. I believe that a lesson should be fun, easy, and challenging at the same time. As a teacher, the thing that is the most important to me is to inspire my students. There is nothing better than making a student feel like he wants to go home and practice. I began playing drums in bands professionally at 15 and continue to this day. While pursuing my career in broadcasting, I kept playing the wedding band circuit to keep food on the table. It was through my broadcasting colleagues, (they would ask me to teach their kids how to play drums), that I discovered that I loved teaching young kids. Playing an instrument and being a musician is the best thing that can happen to any young mind. Most of my performance experience came from the New Jersey/New York area. I recently moved to Austin, TX because of its vibrant music scene. * Formal Education: Associates Degree County College of Morris - 1977 Private Education: John Havasta ndash; 2000-2005 Karl Latham ndash; 2006-2009 Performing Experience: Another Day ndash; Rock nrsquo; ldquo;Chicagordquo; type horn band ndash; 1971-1975 Joyride ndash; Club/Weddings ndash; 1979-1985/1989-1992 Mind Over Matter ndash; Jazz Fusion ndash; 1985-1987 Pressure Cookers ndash; Blues ndash; 1998-2002 Sparta, NJ Stage Theatre ndash; Pit Band, Live plays ndash; 2003-2004 8 Days of Blues ndash; Blues ndash; 2006-2008 Driftwood Moon Band ndash; Classic Rock - 2010 Experience Teaching: 4 Years-My focus, and real joy, is on the young (8-15) children/students with the desire to learn to play the drum kit. I really enjoy working with this age group because so much potential is evident and I love to see them grow into the instrument. I keep the lessons fun with lots of emphasis on playing the kit and teaching the importance of keeping time and doing the fun fills. Through different methods and techniques I customize lessons to the individual student. I have also taught adults who wanted to find their inner rock star.
