An exciting introduction to the science of flight and propulsion. Rocket Academy introduces campers to the fundamentals of rocketry through hands-on design, building, and real rocket launches. Students explore how rockets work, then put those ideas into action as they design and launch a variety of rocket types using different propulsion systems. Throughout the week, campers learn how forces like thrust, momentum, and energy work together to lift rockets off the ground. These concepts are introduced in an age-appropriate, engaging way, allowing students to connect real science to what they see in the sky during launch activities. This camp emphasizes experimentation and discovery. Campers test designs, compare results, and refine their thinking as they explore what makes rockets fly higher, straighter, and farther. What students will do: Design, build, and launch multiple model rockets Explore how rockets operate and why they fly Learn the basic principles of propulsion, including thrust and momentum Compare different propulsion types and launch outcomes Build confidence through hands-on engineering and experimentation Model rocketry has long been a source of inspiration for scientists and engineers, and Rocket Academy gives campers an early opportunity to experience that spark firsthand. This camp is a great fit for students who enjoy building, testing ideas, and seeing science come to life—and pairs naturally with BattleBots, LEGO Robotics, and 3D Printing & CAD.

The best way to experience Marvegos is to take one of our free introductory classes. This one-hour session will give your child a chance to see the location and experience a class with the instructor and other students while the parents can meet the Studio Manager and learn about the art curriculum for children. A parent must stay during the full hour to meet with the senior staff and hear about Marvegos’ approach to art and ask questions.

7 Academic Themes, teaches Early Literacy and Math. Classes are taught by a trained teacher who will cover all 26 letters and relate each letter to real life in a fun and interactive setting. It's a Drop-Off class

Where they are: Learning through listening and watching, moving, and “singing” with coos and babbles. What to expect in class: Experience music from all around the world-- music from both past and present, near and far! From The Beatles to Bach! In Music 1, children will delight in the sound of instruments, and “singing” through musical baby talk. They'll enjoy being sung to, experiencing new sounds and the anticipation of surprise! Benefits: Physical: Sensory exploration time is supported while children practice their motor skills, which is crucial for your baby’s overall development. Cognitive: Music-play helps activate parts of the brain responsible for music and speech processing. It creates an early appreciation of music and supports language development. Social: Through music, you can hear and feel emotions. Tunes can be happy, sad, or angry! This supports social development in understanding emotions in a new way. Adults: You get to engage with your little one making emotional connections and strong bonds. Being involved in your child’s play helps both of you feel more connected.

Where they are: These babies are on the move! Crawling, cruising, rolling, sitting, ready to explore anything and everything. What to expect in class: We boogie down with our babies, get up and dance, give them baby massages, sing them songs, and explore new physical challenges every week through teacher-led activities on the equipment. Explore tummy time from a new perspective or on a new texture, slide down slides on soft lambskins, or take a ride in a gentle swing! Play as a group and socialize with others! Sing songs, learn a routine, and PLAY!

Our play floor comes to life with pretend trips to the grocery store, eating pizza, finding animals, being fire/police/mail people. We'll use creativity and imagination in all activities as we transform our playscape into a whole new world. Benefits: Physical: Jumping, climbing, crawling, dancing all support improved balance and coordination skills along with building strong muscles and bones. Cognitive: Playing in this class supports pretending and imagination, which benefits problem solving skills, communications, and creativity. Join us at Playformance for an unparalleled camp experience. We focus on active play, community skills, and joyful play together! At Playformance, we aim to provide the most fun, safest, most wonderful camp out there. Camp hours are from 8:30-2:30 CAMP HOURS: 8:30-2:30 Daily schedule: 8:30 opening circle and community time. Coaches will greet and check children in. If you have any questions or need to discuss PLEASE contact us before camp at camp@playformancetucson.com Children will be outside in the courtyard until 8:40ish. Be sure to label your child's gear! 9:15-10:30 games and activities with coaches and friends - first breakout 10:30-11 snack and break. Children bring snacks from home. Please pack lots of snacks! We no longer have vending machines 11-12 games and activities with coaches and friends - second breakout 12-1:00 lunch breaks and free play 1:00 community game - examples include lip sync battles, performances by coaches, and whole group activities. 1:30 Final breakout activity 2:10 Closing circle and transition outside 2:30 Pickup DROP OFF AND PICK UP LOCATIONS DROP OFF: Drop off is between 8:30-8:35. Park in the lot just east of our building or on 7th and walk your child to the porch where you will be greeted by coaches to check you in. You child will say goodbye and head to our outdoor play space while we wait for all arrivals. PICK UP: Pick up is on our covered porch at 2:25-2:30. Please wait on the porch. LATE?: Families whose children remain at Playformance after 2:35 pm will be charged $20 for each 10 minutes tardy. If you are going to be late PLEASE CALL if you are able so your child doesn't worry. Parking is available to the east of our facility. Kids are not allowed in the parking lot without their adults. All adults picking up children must be on their approved caregiver list. Please let a coach know if they are going home with a friend or walking or riding home on their own. WHAT TO WEAR/ BRING: Wear clothes good for active play, and a coat for our outside meeting time. SLIP ON SHOES! We are a barefoot gym Please remove jewelry or anything that may be dangerous for your child to wear. Refillable water bottle SNACKS! Bring plenty of snacks for the day. Scheduled snack breaks are offered midmorning but children are able to eat when they need to. BIG NUTRITIOUS LUNCH If your camp is nut free you will be notified. No sugary drinks or soda please. Nutritious food encouraged. NO PHONES or electronics allowed at camp. Children are NOT allowed to have their cell phones and must check them in with a coach at drop off. BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS: Our goal is to create a community of children each week. We hope that every camper leaves camp with new friends and wonderful memories. All campers will be expected to listen and follow the directions of the coaches. This is vital to the wellbeing and safety of your child and the other campers. If your child is struggling we will work with them to help find ways for them to succeed. If the challenging behavior dictates, we will then call a caregiver and work with them to resolve any issues. If the issues continue and our staff feels it is best, the child will be sent home and no refunds will be issued for that day. If your child is sent home, a phone meeting or in person meeting will need to be scheduled for your child to return to the camp community. We will work with all children to be successful at Playformance. We often find the children who need the most support from us are the ones who benefit the most from Playformance. All campers will be expected to be kind towards other campers. We have 2 principles of play at Playformance. 1) We play to have fun and 2) we take care of the people. Any violent aggressive words or actions towards other campers or coaches will not be tolerated. If your child uses violent words and or actions towards another camper they will be sent home for the day. If your child is sent home, a phone meeting or in person meeting will need to be scheduled for your child to return to camp. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's experience at Playformance Camp please make arrangements to talk with a coach before drop off or after pick up. These are the best numbers to reach us during camp hours for urgent matters. ILLNESS POLICY: We will NOT accept children at camp who are sick. We understand that sometimes illness can keep your child out of camp. Any child showing any symptoms of illness including but not limited to fever, headache, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, or excessive tiredness, will be sent home. If in doubt of your child's wellness, please keep them home. Rescheduled reservations may be given to avoid the spread of illness. These are given on a case by case basis. Email austin@playformancetucson.com CANCELLATION POLICY: There are no refunds or credits for missed or cancelled Playformance Camp. If you need to cancel due to illness a reschedule may be possible if space permits. You must cancel your reservation 24 hours before the start of camp in order to be eligible for rescheduling.
