As non-profit organization, the Mission Child Care Consortium, Inc. was one of the components established in 1969 by the Mission Coalition Employment Committee. Mission Coalition Organization Seed money was initially provided by Model Cities to undertake the ambitious project of providing a comprehensive Child Care Program for the residents of the Mission District. Moreover, in 1974, the State Department of Education assumed the funding responsibilities. The agency's mission addresses to the goals:

1. To provide all day care and developmental educational activities for preschool and school-age children in a bilingual/cross cultural environment.

2. To provide career opportunities in the field of early childhood education.

3. To provide, support and resources to parents, children and families.
