I'm currently trying to start my own in home daycare. I've only got two years professional experience (I worked at a daycare in the infant and toddler rooms and I was a nanny to a amazing one year old.) However I have taken care of children my whole life. Those two years were the best because it didn't feel like a job.
My husband and I own our house. It has a nice big fenced in yard. We have two friendly dogs and a bird.
I will offer balanced meals and snacks. When it's nice we will go to the park located in town and with permission perhaps the pool or zoo in the summer.
