Seeking care for my mother in her 70s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience, support for memory care. A little more about my mother: she can be anxious, pleasant, grouchy. She is in the 6th stage of Dementia. Her demeanor changes constantly. Sometimes she is cheerful and talks about the old times, sometimes she is very angry and hateful. Sometimes she is very anxious and confused. It is heartbreaking and has taken a great toll on me mentally, physically, and emotionally trying to care for her by myself. I need help. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm, strong, fond of pets. I need someone who is physically strong. My mom is 5'4 and weighs 187lbs. She's a heavier woman, and at times will have falls. She has to have assistance getting up. She has to have assistance getting in and out of the shower and dressing most of the time. She wants someone to talk to. She's in the 6th stage of Dementia, so often her conversations don't make sense- I need someone who is patient and kind that will agree with her, and listen to the same story day after day, and be firm when needed. We have three cats in our home, so if you are allergic or do not like cats, our home is not for you. My mom loves to get out and ride around, but has trouble climbing our stairs. We're starting at home physical therapy on Tuesday in hopes of rebuilding some strength. She is everything to me. I want whatever time she has left on this earth to be of the best quality.
