Seeking care for my husband in his 70s. Services needed: companionship, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: support for memory care. Male caregiver preferred. A little more about my husband: he can be anxious, lethargic, pleasant. Retired pastor. Early retirement due to vascular dementia challenges. Short term memory issues. Balance difficulty. Lack of stamina. Hearing loss. Increasing eyesight difficulties. Lifelong epilepsy (medication controlled). I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, strong. FYI - we have a cat. My husband is having trouble with balance and I am afraid to leave him for the five hours that I am at work on Monday-Friday. He needs social interaction and encouragement to be more active. In recent years, the majority of his time is spent in his recliner watching TV. He needs more and more help with eating. He can feed himself but has trouble cutting his food due to tremors and loss of dexterity in his hands. Also, I am afraid he is fall risk because of his trouble with balance. He is receiving therapy for vertigo currently.
