FAQs for finding an infant nanny near you
What is an infant nanny?
An infant nanny is a nanny who is hired specifically to take care of an infant. Many families like to hire a nanny who they know has experience taking care of infants, but oftentimes an infant nanny continues to work with the family as the child gets older. An infant nanny may be able to help with things like sleep training with a night nanny and generally knows how to look after the unique needs that an infant has.
What do infant nannies near me do?
Infant nanny responsibilities depend on each family’s unique preferences, but generally infant nannies mainly focus on taking care of the baby. They may also help prepare their bottles, do their laundry, and help with light housekeeping when the newborn is sleeping.
How much does a nanny cost for an infant near me?
The average national hourly pay rate for infant nannies on Care.com is $23.32. This rate can give you a baseline to plan your budget around, but it’s worth noting that all infant nannies charge their own rate and that rate can vary based on factors like years of experience and location.
How can I find an infant nanny near me?
Not sure how to find a nanny for an infant? If you need a nanny for an infant, you can search through infant nanny profiles on Care.com. You can review their rates, learn more about their experience, and can even read reviews from other families they worked with in the past.
What are the duties of a nanny for an infant?
Nanny duties for infants can vary and it’s up to the family to decide what types of duties they need help with. Before a family interviews a potential infant nanny, it can be a good idea for them to sit down and create a list of responsibilities they hope the nanny will take on. That way, when they interview the nanny they can ask if they feel comfortable with responsibilities like light housework, cooking, or looking after older children while also taking care of an infant.
