Seeking care for my grandmother in her 90s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: nursing experience. A little more about my grandmother: she can be anxious, lethargic, pleasant, outgoing, independent. My gram is 98 years old with a very sharp mind. Her body is slowly withering away. She has oxygen now and she uses a walker. She also has the stair chair which helps make it easier for her to go downstairs.
She is only anxious over dying. We've had a priest come and talk to her; but there is still some anxiety. She is also hard of hearing but can hear out of one year with the hearing aid.
She loves to talk about her family, her recipes, and other people's families; such as the caregiver. She sleeps a lot lately; but we do need someone there we can trust. Someone would be there most of the time; but they need to sleep. I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong, fond of pets. The ideal caregiver is kind and patient. The ideal caregiver can help her with a shower or feed her some soup. The ideal caregiver makes her comfortable. My gram lives with my aunt and uncle. My mom is 78 and lives down the street; but she is 12 years older than my aunt and she is exhausted and only wants to come and visit and chat with my grandmother at this point.
