Embark on a scenic journey through the Indian River Lagoon aboard our comfortable 40-passenger Discovery pontoon boat. Guided by one of our friendly, certified Florida naturalists, this immersive two-hour tour offers a closer look at the diverse wildlife that thrives in North America’s most biologically rich estuary. As your captain expertly navigates the lagoon’s backwaters, you’ll take in Florida’s breathtaking natural beauty while learning about vital conservation efforts to protect this unique ecosystem. During the warmer months, you may spot gentle manatees, while spring and summer bring the lively sights and sounds of bird nesting season on our rookery islands. This is an after school film class for Annunciation Day School. Local filmmakers will train the students in camera operations, lighting, film crew management, and producing. Kids will work in teams to develop and produce their own movie, music video, or TV show.

This is a self drive activity, meaning you would need to handle your own transportation to and from our location. Dinner reservations start at 8:00pm for this activity, and included in your booking is a 3-course meal at Latitude 65. Alcohol is not included, but is available for purchase, as are additional add ons and appetizers.  After dinner, you can relax in our lounge space and utilize our free wi-fi while you wait for the Aurora Borealis to make an appearance. At 10pm our staff hold a nightly presentation discussing the science and folklore behind the northern lights, which is a free presentation.  When the aurora makes an appearance, our staff will inform you where to look! We also offer additional photography sessions at $60 per person.  The yurt closes at 2:00am, which is when you would need to depart the property.

Even in the warm summer months, Crystal River has a local population of 70-100 manatees that remain here year round.
