Unlocking Creativity Through Core Art Foundations Our Elementary Art Education Program is designed to foster creativity and build essential skills through a sequential and cyclical curriculum. By progressively exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, students not only learn art techniques but also develop a deep appreciation for art history. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) Welcome to the wonderful world of cartooning and animation! This fun class lays the foundation for many art skills. The joy of drawing cartoons provides a vehicle for also learning drawing basics. This is a digital drawing class. This is an ongoing course that provides new projects each week to challenge and guide your child's artistic abilities. Each student receives individual attention to emphasis their natural strengths and help in areas they need to improve. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

Spend your vacation getting creative! Come on over to Studio on the Common for some nonstop, art-filled fun! We'll have a new project each day, so you can sign up for just one day or the whole week (but we don't recommend signing up for the morning and the afternoon on the same day as the projects do repeat). Through hands-on lessons, students will learn how to navigate the interface, use brushes and tools, and apply digital techniques to create original artworks. The course is designed to build a strong foundation for students interested in developing their digital art practice and a small class size means kids will get plenty of personalized instruction and one-on-one support. What to Bring to Class: iPad (9th generation or newer recommended for best performance) Apple Pencil Charger Because this program is offered on a limited basis, make-up classes are not available. This Middle School Class is perfect for an after school Art Experience. We will complete roughly 1 project each day- :) Includes all sitting fees, materials and glaze/ studio fees. Yes- You can bring a snack to class & eat before we begin.

During this inspiring week of camp, we will be exploring the world of illustration. Campers will work with ink and pencil while learning foundational drawing techniques such as shading, line work, and composition. Students will be encouraged to develop their individual style and will practice turning their ideas into beautifully illustrated artworks. Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Even if we’re not near the ocean, we can still bring the beach to us! This fun, hands-on week is inspired by sandy shores, rolling waves, and ocean treasures—no travel required. You’ll create beach-inspired art using a variety of materials as you build sandcastle sculptures, design colorful seashell creations, and explore textures, shapes, and patterns inspired by the sea. Through drawing, painting, building, and crafting, you’ll experiment, play, and imagine what a day at the beach might look and feel like. Each day brings new projects and plenty of time for creativity, storytelling, and imaginative play in a supportive, playful environment. By the end of the week, you’ll have a collection of sunny, seaside-inspired artwork to take home and share. Perfect for young artists who love to create, explore, and imagine oceans near and far!

Let’s practice our drawing techniques with this Beatrix Potter inspired mouse! Potter was a popular English writer and illustrator, responsible for classic stories such as “Peter Rabbit”. This week we are mimicking her whimsical style to draw an adorable mouse. Students will get to practice line and form to set up a successful composition with a distinct background and foreground. They will also learn valuable cross hatching techniques to express value and light.

This week we're putting our illustrative skills to the test as we recreate this enchanting sun and moon design. Students will embrace the concept of line to capture expression in this step by step project, sharpening their drawing skills before running wild with color. Focusing on design and composition, their art will shine with this illuminating caricature of celestial bodies.
