Body: I started taking vocal lessons with Diane a little over a year ago. I was completely new to the idea of singing: I loved playing guitar and knew in my heart that music was what I wanted to do with my life, but I was shy and uncomfortable with my voice. The thought of singing in front of other people terrified me. Since then, Diane has not only taught me how to sing correctly, but guided me in finding how I want to express myself through vocals. She has pushed me to new heights I never thought I could reach, and then some. Because of her I was finally able to conquer my fears and sing at my first open mic night just a few weeks ago. She has allowed me to flourish artistically, and to me, that is priceless. She is an absolute master at her craft who excels far beyond any other music teacher I have taken lessons with-don#039;t let your opportunity with her slip away! You don#039;t know what you#039;re missing out on. Andrew Michael Name: Diane Postell Date: 2024-08-02 16:43:25 Title: I am Grateful for Her Help and Support! Body: I was introduced to Diane by a group of professional musicians with whom I was working. My goal, at the time, was to confidently work side by side with some experienced Jazz musicians who had become part of my circle of friends. I was originally classically trained, but wanted to enjoy making Jazz music with others. I heard Diane perform at some jam sessions and later at her own one woman show. She attended a gig where I was singing and sang a tune at my invitation. I carefully observed her approach and she is now my #039;go to#039; choice for counseling, lessons and advice. She employs, promotes and teaches correct and safe vocal technique. Diane works in many different genres and can coach to all of them. She is a mentor to her students while striving to understand each person#039;s goals and expectations. Diane knows the human voice and is able to isolate trouble spots and causes. The specific techniques and exercises she suggests to form better habits have helped me to begin to resolve the issues I caused by attempting to retrain myself to sing a completely different genre of music than I was originally trained for. Classes and lessons with Diane focus on helping you to use your voice to the best of its capacity to make the kind of music you would like to explore. I am honored to be the vocalist for three Big Bands and occasionally work with small jazz combos. I have worked with Diane privately and as part of her group voice classes. Learning in both of these settings has been extremely beneficial. I believe vocalists need to consistently return to coaching to maintain good and safe habits. Diane has allowed me to do that. I am grateful for her help and support. Alice S.

As the third member of his family working in the music industry, Mitch has dedicated himself to the art of recording and producing music. One of the highlights of his short career has been working with ex-UB40 Sound Engineer Alan Caves on live shows and his promotion video. As well as his Distinction* AS level in Music Technology and 5 A* Diploma GCSE Performing Arts grades, Mitch has gained practical knowledge by recording material for both private and commercial use. Mitch also possesses the musicianship needed to act as a session drummer, taking the position of drummers unable to attend recording sessions. He also holds a Guinness World Record for participating in the Stick It To MS world record attempt alongside 600 other drummers at the NIA Birmingham in the UK in 2009. Mitch began playing drums when he was 11 years old, starting off with a basic kit he took inspiration from his heroes; Liberty DeVitto, Simon Phillips, Jeff Porcaro and his father, Darren Austin. From the age of 14 his playing advanced from his home into the local area playing gigs and assisting previously formed groups. He has also spent time being a technician to small groups within his local area. Mitch became interested in sound engineering and started supporting local engineers whilst drawing on advice from invaluable resources such as Alan Caves and Darren Austin. Now from the age of 18, Mitch works for himself and has toured the UK performing live shows and session recordings. Alongside of all this, Mitch also finds time to share his exceptional skills with his students.
