NB was created by Lucy McCoy who has her degree in Fisheries & Wildlife with a Specialization in Environmental Education. Ms. Lucy has previously worked as a babysitter (from the age of 14), a nanny, a teacher at Learning Years Day School in Hillsboro, an educator at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Oregon Zoo. The curriculum is Environmental Education based and focuses on preparing children for kindergarten. 100% biodegradable diapers and wipes are used. Breakfast, snacks and lunch are vegetarian and organic or local as much as possible. NB is deemed an Eco-Healthy Child Care by the Oregon Environmental Council. Scaponia Springs Farm is deemed a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
