Hello I am a Nurse for this facility. I go in and do quarterly health screenings. Whenever I'm there I observe it to be an awesome environment. I always recommend it to parents in the area.

I had a very poor experience with D's Pumpkin Patch. Three things occured that caused me to remove my son from her care. First, the main caregiver, Denise, went away on vacation twice in one school year without having back up care in place for the children. She still expected to be paid for these weeks despite the fact that I had to pay for alternative care. Secondly, she left my then three year old son alone with her teenaged son who was about fifteen or sixteen at the time. She said that it was only for a little while while she dropped off another student, but it obviously upset me. The final straw with this daycare facility occured when Denise was over three hours late picking my son up from school. To add insult to injury, she did not even call me, my husband, or my emergency contact to let us know that she would not be able to pick him up on time. Thankfully, his teacher stayed with him instead of simply dropping him off at the nearest police station as would have been well within her rights. Bottom line, skip this place and use someone more professional.

Thank you for this review, however it does sadden me. I will respond to each alleged situation in the order in which it is written. upon entering the program ALL parents receive a contract that stipulates my policies and expectations. within that policy, under holidays & vacations, it states in bold print That the facility will be closed with pay for specified holidays and personal vacations. It goes on to state that two weeks Vacation will be taken each calendar year and that the parents are encouraged to secure alternative care for both specified holidays and vacation. In my eight years of business I have never exceeded two weeks of vacation. I am also open during the schools winter recess. My contract also states the policy on late pick-up. I do understand that from time to time a situation may occur to cause parents to run late. This is why I have been so lenient with enforcing the late policy in the past. once business hours came to a close and my staff had gone home I took the remaining student into care as I would handle my own, outside of Daycare, until a parent arrived. my son was a 16 year old volunteer in my program and yes I did feel he was responsible enough to care for both my younger son and one additional child while I drove a total distance of 4mins round trip to drop another student who was held late while I waited. The student was in mint condition upon the parents arrival.I do assume partial responsibility because I allowed continuous late pick-up. Last but not least all parents must supply numbers where they can be reached at ALL times. I had a child who had a seizure and the primary care giver(myself) rode in the ambulance with the child. The secondary caregiver had to stay with the children at the facility and the substitute was unavailable. Again I do assume partial responsibility. It should never be a situation where a child is left at a school for hours. A parent should be reachable on a landline or dependable cell phone at all times. The parent was never reached and I personally picked the child up about 35-40 mins after dismissal. directly after I was released from the hospital. The nature of the business is that you have to take the good reviews with the bad. Fortunately I don't have many bad. It can only help build and improve your business. Its shocking to see at first glance but I will use this experience as a learning tool. At this time I have multiple substitutes on call and we are well staffed. The student was a pleasure
