Cornerstone Preschool And Kindergarten

Cornerstone Preschool and Kindergarten is a quality early childhood center located in the Almaden Valley. We offer an ongoing preschool and extended day care program for three to five year old children and Kindergarten for five and six year old children. Within the framework of a safe and loving environment we focus on the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth and development of each child. We believe that every child is unique and deserves individual attention, unconditional love and acceptance. Through our enriched curriculum we encourage the development of a healthy self-concept, appropriate social interaction through play and small group activities, gross and fine motor skill development, intellectual growth and academic preparation, and the integration of biblical truths into every part of the child's learning experience. Our goal is to build a strong educational and personal foundation for each child. While common core standards are present throughout our curriculum, we focus on the process of learning to provide a solid foundation, strong and well grounded in developmentally appropriate practice. We recognize that children move through specific stages of development at their own individual pace. Each child has their own learning style and temperament which contributes to how they process information and retain it as knowledge. We understand that children construct knowledge through hands-on exploration and discovery. We strive to give children the opportunity to attain mastery at each developmental level. Preschool hours are 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. Extended care options are 8:00 am to 3:00 pm or 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Kindergarten hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 - 12:30 pm. Preschool and extended care programs are offered Monday through Friday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday.
