Diana is a animal care professional, having spent more than 15 years working and/or volunteering for animal sanctuaries, shelters and rescue organizations in Hawaii and Oregon.

In 2001 she started a non-profit animal rescue organization Shelter AnimalResource Alliance (S. A. R. A.) with the mission to rescue, assist and advocate for shelter animals. Over the next 8 years she and S. A. R. A. rescued more than 800 dogs and 350 cats from animal control facilities and other life-threatening situations, transferring them to progressive adoption programs or fostering them and find them loving homes directly.
