OUR MISSION

A Child's Nature provides flexible, full-day child care and education for families of diverse backgrounds. Surrounded by goodness, truth and beauty, our children achieve their full potential through daily outdoor adventures,purposeful work, artistic experiences and imaginative play with a curriculum inspired by Waldorf education. Through close personal relationships with caregivers, teachers and nature, our children grow into capable, caring individuals who can step out into the wider world with confidence.<br/><br/>WALDORF EDUCATION<br/><br/>There are about 10,000 Waldorf Schools worldwide, serving many cultural streams, each working out of the philosophical and pedagogical indications of a brilliant scientist and educator, Rudolf Steiner. Waldorf education is different from other streams of education in that the main focus of the teacher is not to impart information, but to awaken capacities. Education is thus an artistic activity, where the teacher must sense the needs of the individuals and the group, adapts the developmental curriculum to their needs, and then presents the lessons in a way that enlivens the children and serves them in their development. <br/><br/>For the young child, the emphasis is on imaginative play, practical work, outdoor adventures, and artistic activities that are all modeled by upright and joyous adults. We strive to awaken a sense of reverence for life in every child, building a foundation of good health in all realms: physical, socio-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual.
