I Believe Everyone Be Treated As Equals. In Our Own Way We Are All Special
I started out a c. n. a in 1995, at the Masonic home in N. Y, a 300+ bed nursing home for masons, where they certified me. I have worked all the units, Alzheimer, rehabilitation, palliative, and units with total care and some assist. I had anywhere from 8-18 residents who received the absolute best care I could give. In a nursing home, the staff in some cases is all some residents have. An aide does most patient care, there for, spends the majority of time out of the whole staff with them. I believe in the golden rule, therefore I give 110% to assure my people are happy, content, and grateful to see me walk into the room. I worked as a c. n. a for years before moving down here in 2002. Since then I have worked as a home health aide, personal care aide, and at the hospital as a mental health tech. I recently was referred to as an angel from one of my patient's, who was relieved when she would see I was working. That makes you feel accomplished, an assures you, you are doing your job.
