Seeking care for my father in his 70s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant, outgoing. George is a 77-year-old great guy with Parkinson's who recently broke his hip. He's a jokester and happy at home. His personality and mind are still there and pretty much perfect. Since his fracture, he has been in a rehabilitation center and has gotten accustomed to daily help with showers, toileting, eating, dressing, etc. His wife who helps take care of him has been in the hospital since January, and will also be needing care when she returns from the hospital (will discuss later). I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong, fond of pets. We are looking for a reliable, genuine caregiver with a "can-do", willing attitude. Live in the 2, 000 sq. Foot basement of their oldest daughter's home in Mckinney. Although their family is close, they now require full time care. Since this is a first for us, we are looking for somebody to help get them onto a more scheduled lifestyle. We need somebody to be their first point of contact in the morning to get them out of bed, bathed/groomed, dressed, breakfast, medication reminders, do some light housework/laundry on downtime, lunch, and down for their afternoon nap and we can take it from there. Thinking somewhere from 8-1 every day.
