Years of Experience: 15 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 25 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: My name is Nicole. I am 19 years old, and I have been playing guitar almost my entire life. I learned the basic things when I was young so growing up I was able to learn songs by just trying to play them. I started out on acoustic and was playing electric for a while now I like to stick to my acoustic. My style is rock. I am positive I can take any song and make it sound good on an acoustic guitar. I am definitely confident in my abilities and would love an opportunity to be able to make a living doing something I love and also being able to teach future musicians. * Formal Education: I went to Highland High School graduated class of 2009. I was an excellent student who took everything important to me seriously. I played the sax a little bit in an after school class also played percussion for a bit. Performing Experience: I have little experience performing on a stage but it my goal to one day be able to. I have experience performing in front of my friends and family. They enjoy watching me play. Experience Teaching: I've taught many people how to play basic things, but important things as far as putting your fingers on the frets, strumming the strings, hammering on and off strings, string names, etc. These things are fundamental parts of playing guitar and if practiced enough can really get a person started if they are willing to pour their heart into the guitar.

After picking up his first guitar, he realized that he wanted to take his passion in music to the next level and absorb as much music as possible. He formed a rock band with two of his close friends and finally got the experience of what it was like to play in a band. This caused him to make the decision to study music while going to college since he truly wanted to do something he enjoyed. So, he enrolled in the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music of California State University Long Beach where he majored in a Jazz Performance Guitar degree. While at school, he was receiving guitar lessons from two of the top guitarists in the Los Angeles area, Ron Eschete and Michael Higgins. Gerard's Music Lessons (Drum)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Dallas, TX

Years of Experience: 30 Location Options: In Studio Travel Radius: 50 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Drum Lessons Overview: The best cure for a sluggish mind is to disturb its routine. [William D.] Hello. I'm a professional musician, composer, and teacher of drumset/snare drum. Been doing both for 2+ decades. I've recorded, performed, and toured here in the USA and in Europe. Started my schooling in France (w/Alan Silva)and finished up at UNT (Music Performance) in Denton (w/Henry Okstel, Rick Latham, etc). I've played Jazz and Bebop, Top 40, techno/electronika/rave, rock, heavy metal, blues, Greek Middle Eastern, some symphonic, pop, various avant-garde styles, "nuevo" flamenco, funk, hip-hop, latin, folky singer-songwriter, reggae/dub, drum 'n' bass, totally improvized music, CW, and even lizard lounge styles. Currently accepting students from beginner to advanced. Age range of my students= 6 yrs old to early 50's... Beginning students are those that don't know anything about playing drumset except for the fact that it seems like it would be a fun thing to do. Maybe they have a drumset, maybe they don't. (If you don't have a drumset I can help you find one without breaking the bank...). Maybe they want to further hone the skills that they're learning in school music programs, ie. reading skills, snare drum skills, the rudiments... Intermediate drummers to Advanced drummers are those drummers that have been playing for a while and have realized that there may be more to playing the drumset than they're currently capable of or even aware of. This includes conceptions of drumming and music, 4-limb inter-dependence, and music styles that may seem "mysterious"...like Bebop (Jazz). Maybe they want to learn how to read and write. These drummers may have a pretty decent handle on things, maybe play in a band, or have played in several bands but feel like their lack of technique (like stick control, limb control, phrasing, syncopation) is holding them back. They may feel they've "reached a wall" in their technical abilities and/or their musical abilities and expression: same old licks, same old beats, same old fills, etc. Self-taught drummers may feel the desire to develop more of the "formal" training into their playing (the rudiments, reading, ear-training, snare drum chops, Jazz syncopations/chops, odd meter playing, "flow", etc). Maybe they just want the input of a teacher who ca

    Michael's Music Lessons (Guitar, Vocal)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Sacramento, CA

Years of Experience: 6 Location Options: In Studio, In Home Travel Radius: 10 Genres: Rock, Blues, Country, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Vocal Lessons Overview: Hello, my name is Michael "Joshua" from Sacramento California. I have been playing guitar for twenty years and singing professionally for the past ten years. I right all the music you hear on that site and all the lyrics. It was not easy finding my heartsong though...I was blinded by what I thought I had to sound like (supposed to do) instead of excepting my natural inclinations. I admit I am a talented singer with the ability to mimic a wide range of my favorite artist. However It would have been good to learn myself. I am 36 years old and my vocal range has gotten even wider than before. That was a total suprise to me. I never thought after all these years my range could actually improve and considerably too. The best thing a musician can do for themselves is to honestly surrender to their true feelings and find content with those feelings as well as confidence in order to free their genuine heartsong. * Private Education: I had private lessons for guitar and vocals at Skips Music. Performing Experience: I performed at Sacramento nightly venues from 2004 to 2012. The venues include Old Iron Sides,Town House,Press Club,Marylins on K,Distillery,Ceaser Chaves Park. In Seattle I played for five years with band called Lucy from 1999 to 2003. The venues included the Fenix, the Triangle and the Hurricane Cafe. Experience Teaching: I've only been teaching for the past few years and I only have had 6 students. They all have become exceptional! But I don't take the credit for their hard work. They earned it all the way.
