Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Whether your child is brand new to storytelling or just wants to boost their confidence, this fun, high-energy class is the perfect place to start! Students will improve both their public speaking and creative writing skills as they learn how to craft and perform powerful stories in a supportive, laughter-filled environment. From developing story structure to delivering stories out loud, students will have a blast while building real-world communication skills. And what a perfect time of year to tell magical stories! Come along as we help the Queendom's faithful mail carrier, Pack Rat, with all of his magical mail deliveries! There are some familiar addresses, and some less familiar.. but he's never let a letter go undelivered and won't start now! Please remember to pack a water bottle, nut-free lunch and a yummy snack (or2!). Drop off: 9am - 9:30am Pickup: 2:30pm - 3pm Refund Policy: Please note that we have a no refund policy. Full credits will be issued for anything with a 4 week notice and can be used for any future Rabbit Hole activity. After 4 weeks we are unable to credit. If your child is sick or you need to miss a day of camp we will have a camp bag ready for you at the studio. Puppet shows are back! Join us twice a month on Saturday mornings as we take kiddos on a story-time adventure with puppet pals small and large - Sneaky Pete, Mama Mavis, Chef Meowzers, Sadie Blue Boots, Grandfather Time, and an ever growing crew of puppet friends! We'll even get to introduce some of our original musicals (that debuted at Filoli this summer!) to the studio! There will also be theater and movement games, dancing, and singing. Caregiver is required to stay.
