Broadway Stars was created by a professional performer turned child development specialist with the primary goal of helping children develop the foundational skills and technique every musical theater performer needs while giving them the opportunity to find their voice, build confidence, and do what every budding Broadway Star loves most: PERFORM! Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience in the classroom and on professional stages and feature a customized curriculum designed to challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer while helping prepare them to participate in our mainstage musical this Spring. Each week, your child will participate in acting games, choreography rehearsal, and vocal coachings as they learn scenes and songs from Broadway Musicals that they will perform onstage for family and friends at the end of the semester. Whether your child is destined for the lights of Broadway or simply loves to perform with their friends, this class will spark their creativity and give them the confidence to shine both onstage and off! *While participation in our Fall Semester is not required to enroll in our Spring Production classes, it is strongly encouraged. *Our Fall Finale will take place on a weeknight the week of December 14. Once we know how many students are participating in Stars this Fall, we will be able to finalize the location, day, and time and share that information with families. *There will be no regular class the week of Decembr 14th as we will be doing our performance instead!

Preschoolers can now experience the magic of Broadway with a class designed specifically for them! Each week, Broadway Little Stars introduces preschoolers to a new musical through activities inspired by the “show of the week” and designed to get them singing, dancing, and acting along. Classes are taught by professional teaching artists who are experts at engaging and educating children in fun, developmentally appropriate ways. High School Public Speaking & Interview Weekend Bootcamp A 2-Session High School Speaking Intensive Confidence. Clarity. Charisma. And a whole lot of YOU. Give your high school student the communication skills to speak up, think fast, and stand out—in the classroom, during interviews, in leadership roles, and beyond! This high-energy 2-session, Saturday bundle combines two of our most valuable high school programs: Public Speaking Fundamentals and Impromptu Speaking & College Interview Prep. Across two interactive 3-hour sessions, students will learn how to organize their ideas, create compelling content, deliver with confidence, think on their feet, and handle interviews and unexpected questions with poise. And this isn't six hours of sitting and listening! Students will learn through games, challenges, writing activities, speaking exercises, mock interviews, individualized coaching, and plenty of opportunities to get up and SPEAK. SESSION 1: PUBLIC SPEAKING FUNDAMENTALS (Saturday, Sept 26) Build It. Deliver It. Own It. Session 1 builds the foundation of a strong, confident speaker. Students will explore the three key elements of effective public speaking: Content, Structure, and Performance. They'll learn how to: Organize ideas into clear, compelling speeches and presentations Develop stronger and more engaging content Structure thoughts so they're easy for an audience to follow Use voice, body language, facial expression, and eye contact effectively Manage nervousness and speak with greater confidence Connect with an audience rather than simply "give a speech" Strengthen both written and verbal communication Students will participate in a combination of writing and speaking exercises, receiving individualized instructor coaching and supportive peer feedback along the way. This drawing class is designed for students of all levels of drawing experience, and would like to learn some advanced techniques and explore new mediums. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Stages’s unique approach to working with middle schoolers focuses as much on the process as it does the product. Auditions at Stages are designed to be a low stress, fun experience. Middle School Musical students get the chance to do a comprehensive audition process complete with 32 bar cut vocal audition, dance call, cold reads, and callbacks. Casting will be done traditionally with 1-2 actors playing each role. EVERY CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A ROLE IN THE SHOW. We will work together with children to make sure they have a role. that they are excited to perform! --Weeks 3-11 (Sep 21 - Nov 21): Putting It Together-- During Weeks 3-9, the cast will participate in weekly rehearsals. During these classes, we will focus on character development, blocking the show, learning choreography and music. --Weeks 12-14 (Nov 30 - Dec 19): Prepping for Opening Night-- During Weeks 12-14, the cast will begin running doing “Run Thrus” where they perform the show from start to finish. We’ll also start adding in transitions so performers know when and how to enter/exit the stage, when to get microphones, make a costume change, or pick up a prop from the prop table. These classes are VERY important and we ask that you do your best to ensure your child is at every class unless they are ill. *There will be no class on November 25 and 28* WINTER BREAK: December 21 - January 2 -Additional rehearsals may be added the early in the week of December 21 but these will be optional to accommodate families who are traveling. TECH WEEK: Sunday, January 3 - Thursday, January 7 The week of the show, we will be having rehearsals after school at the theater. These rehearsals will be MANDATORY. We will dive into the biology of perception, isolating each sense to study its unique function. By investigating how information travels from our sensory organs to various parts of the brain, students will uncover the vital role these systems play in the human experience.
