My Sweet, Hilarious Brother Has ALS, But Is Such A Joy To Be Around!

Part Time
We need hands-on care in Rockwall. Meal Preparation: We make the meals, but the helper may be asked to heat something in the microwave, pour my brother's drink, fix his coffee, etc. Feeding: My brother is unable to feed himself whatsoever and needs assistance throughout mealtime (feeding, wiping his face, etc.). Transportation: We have a couple of vans and may (occasionally) ask the helper to ride with us for a brief errand - which they will be made aware of in advance. Bathing / Dressing: My brother is unable to do ANY toileting, bathing, or dressing independently... and requires much assistance with each. Light Housekeeping: Changing my brother's bedding once a week. Medication Management: Administering his pills, etc. He's not currently on any meds... Companionship: There may be times when my brother just wants someone to watch t. v. with him or walk around the neighborhood (while he drives in his power chair). Schedule Details: Once in awhile, my brother has appointments on one of the caregiver's days to be here. If at all possible, we'll notify him/her in advance and will try to switch-out the day so that they can still get their hours. For instance, if my brother has a clinic appointment on a Monday, we'll see if the helper can possibly come on Tuesday, instead, to make up for the time lost. My brother has ALS, uses a power chair (which he operates with his head), has a trach and is on a ventilator full-time.
