Seeking care for my mother in her 90s. Services needed: companionship, medication prompting, light housekeeping. No prior experience required. A little more about my mother: she can be pleasant, outgoing, independent. 93 years young. Very pleasant and appreciative. Early dementia sitting in. Is a bit forgetful. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty. Someone that can listen to her old family stories that she tends to repeat. Patience. Need someone that can help me look after her best interests and that her room is clean. She doesn't require a large amount of help. I would like this caregiver to help me monitor the meds the facility has her on, making sure her room floor is clean along with her small bathroom. Caregiver could help notify me of when my mother could use some new clothes, make sure the facility is washing her clothes weekly properly, and basically spending a few minutes with me mom making her feel special.
I live in North Carolina and can't make it in to see her regularly. I don't have other family that can help me. I just feel she's another number to the retirement home and want someone that can help me assist my mom when I'm not there.
