Seeking care for my mother in her 60s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: support for chronic illness, support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be lethargic, pleasant, reserved. My mother has FTD (frontier temporal lobe dementia), nonverbal, immobile, 67, kind and gentle, weights about 105lb. I'm looking for someone who is patient, quiet, strong. We are in need of someone to be our hands, feet and heart to care for my mom. They must be caring, intuitive, sympathetic to the nature of her disorder, engaging, and taking the initiative to provide mommy the best care. My mom has had a servant heart all her life, and we want someone who enjoys what they do and it shows in their care and desire to provide their best. Mommy needs sunlight in the warmer months, and we have a porch that she can be wheeled out onto for both her and the caregiver to enjoy... We generally do her cooking and relay any small assistance needed from a caregiver to warm up or prepare a snack. We don't expect anyone to do heavy house work except to consider those things which pertain to mommy (i.e her dishes and laundry). The role is not tough by any means, just requires a kind heart and the initiative to always be doing something to provide quality care for mommy when present in the home. We consider our caregivers to be like family when we all share the same vision and will. We look forward to finding someone that we can count on and enjoys building a relationship with mommy.
