The after school program is for TK to 5th graders and includes activities such as reading, dance, show & tell, arts & crafts, science trivia, yoga, world culture and board games. Our Moonlight & Starlight Canoe Tour is often regarded by both our guides and our guests as one of our best tours! As the sun sets behind the mighty Cascade Mountains, we will push out onto the water in our canoes. After some adventure and exploration, we will take a break to stargaze while enjoying a local craft beer or hot cocoa as well as a desert from a local bakery. After immersing ourselves in the peace and beauty of the night sky, we will begin our journey back to shore. During the adventure, our award winning naturalist guides will point out wildlife, impart age-old stories and myths mixed with astronomy, and also share the rich human and geologic history of Central Oregon! What makes this tour truly special is that we are typically the only people out on the water at night. Sitting peacefully on a perfectly still lake as the the stars shimmer above and reflect off the water - its a feeling that simply can't be understood through words on a screen.

On this yoga and hiking adventure we will meet at a designated location and then guests will follow the guide to the trailhead. We'll then go on a 2-2.5 mile hike meandering through a beautiful desert eco-system, learning about plants and animals of the area along the way from our Wilderness First Responder and Utah Master Naturalist guide. Then, on top of the sticky Navajo Sandstone, we'll find a flat spot for a 1 hour yoga and meditation practice. While doing so, we'll have views of Zion National Park, the Pine Valley Mountains, or gorgeous candy cane stripped cliffs. Finally, the group will walk back. ~3-4 our tour. This is a wonderful alternative to an airboat ride … quiet, peaceful and surreal. It is a great learning experience in a very unique part of the Everglades. The Everglades is a vast and varied ecosystem containing the largest mangrove forest in North America. Throughout the forest are brackish "lakes" whose waters are a mix of "sweet" fresh water and salt water. They are refuges and nursery grounds for alligators, herons, egrets, stilts, ducks, wood storks, spoonbills,  otters, orchids and bromeliads and a gamut of fishes. Interconnecting these lakes are narrow, flowing tidal creeks. The mangrove forest grows to the very edge and over the tops of these creeks forming a canopy or a tunnel. The dense canopy regulates moisture and humidity allowing  to thrive. Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.
