Our Moonlight & Starlight Canoe Tour is often regarded by both our guides and our guests as one of our best tours! As the sun sets behind the mighty Cascade Mountains, we will push out onto the water in our canoes. After some adventure and exploration, we will take a break to stargaze while enjoying a local craft beer or hot cocoa as well as a desert from a local bakery. After immersing ourselves in the peace and beauty of the night sky, we will begin our journey back to shore. During the adventure, our award winning naturalist guides will point out wildlife, impart age-old stories and myths mixed with astronomy, and also share the rich human and geologic history of Central Oregon! What makes this tour truly special is that we are typically the only people out on the water at night. This morning kayak tour is the perfect time to get on the water - calm, less boat traffic, and beautiful views! Our personable guides will lead you through calm marsh areas where they will show you parts of our local ecosystem including oysters, spartina grass, pluff mud, & many species of local birds. This is an after school film class for Mt. Bethel Elementary. During the Kids TV after school film program, kids will be trained to create and broadcast their own television show called BB TV (Bethel Buccaneer Television). Professional filmmakers will train the kids on camera shooting, lighting, film crew management and producing. Students will learn interview techniques; on camera acting, and reporting in order to produce their own segments for the television show BB TV. The kids will meet 2 days a week in order to produce show segments, to edit the segments, and to plan the segments for the next show. The production team will produce multiple shows and segments throughout the semester.

Note: Sunrise is too early in the summer to ride during the tram’s open hours! We will be riding after sunrise April - August. The early tour guest gets the spectacular views. We’ll meet you on the edge of downtown Portland, where you will have a chance to pick up coffee (or tea). We will head over to OHSU, where we will walk with you to the Aerial Tram. We’ll ride up this feat of Swiss engineering up to the top as the early sun reveals the city’s glowing colors. Once there, depending on sunrise timing and weather, we'll watch the sun crest the horizon, or check out city views in the early morning light. After we ride back to the bottom, we'll tell you the story of the bridge and its quixotic lights, and orient you to the city whose east-west divider lies before us. The Aerial Tram was built in 2006 to connect the main campus of Oregon Health Sciences University with the new neighborhood of the South Waterfront. We will be joining students and medical staff on their daily tram ride!
