This combination class offers children a sampling of art projects using various media such as painting, clay, watercolors, collage, and pastels. It is amazing what you can create when you explore with your imagination. A variety of materials are used to create your many masterpieces – Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session, so sign-up for all sessions OR our school program for discounted rate. Campers will spend part of their day working with crazy concoctions and exploring the mysterious ways the world works. From fizzing reactions to strange, swirling mixtures, it’s time to get messy and get curious. We provide the space for big ideas and even bigger results all in the name of science. If your child loves to mix it up and see what happens, this is the camp they’ve been waiting for! The other part of the day your camper will join Playwell Teknologies Minecraft Engineering using LEGO® Materials and Venture into the world of Minecraft in our unique LEGO® experience. Get ready to build your base, craft your tools, use your Minecart to harvest raw resources, and battle to stop the Ender Dragon from ending the world. Come explore the endless possibilities of LEGO® with a trained Play-Well instructor. All of the camps come together for lunch, recess breaks, and special events. If your camp is cancelled, you will be notified at least 30 days prior. We may also combine the 1st and 2nd grade camps with the 3rd-6th grade camps if there is low enrollment. Cancellation Policy: Registrations canceled at least 30 days prior to the start of camp will receive a full refund. Registrations canceled 15-29 days prior to camp will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 14 days of the start of camp will not be refunded. Please wear sunscreen and bring a jacket daily because we never know what coastal weather will bring. Campers are required to bring a lunch, snack and water bottle daily.

Join us for a one-week Robotics Summer Camp designed for students in grades 6–8! Campers will build and program an Arduino-based robotics kit and put their creations to the test in a series of fun, hands-on technical challenges and games. Coding is primarily block-based using iPads, making it accessible for beginners, while students with prior experience can choose to program their robots in Python on Chromebooks. This camp blends creativity, problem-solving, and friendly competition in an exciting introduction to robotics and engineering

In Drawing/Painting Class we will create a variety of fine art projects focusing on technique and style, composition, brushwork, and systematic practice. KVArteest will give input on our subject matter, as we together decide what we want to learn.

SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP Led by Paula Kelly, M.ED This play-based group supports young children in developing essential social skills for building friendships and navigating group settings. Through guided play, sensory activities, and structured routines, children learn to: - Greet peers and initiate play - Take turns, share, and follow group expectations - Recognize and talk about their own and others’ feelings - Use words to solve problems and express needs - Practice flexible thinking, cooperation, and self-control Each session is tailored to the unique needs of the group, offering a safe, inclusive space where children can build confidence, connect with others, and strengthen early relationship skills in a developmentally appropriate way. ★ This class meets once a week for 4 consecutive weeks. 👉 First-time families may try one introductory class at a discounted rate ($25)! We are excited to share the week being creative, building community and friendships. Drop off is from 9am-9:30 and pick up is anytime between 2:30-3:00pm. During our days at Hilltop Creative Camp we will start our mornings off with free play, morning greetings, snack and an indoor creative activity. Nature is a huge focus of Hilltop Creative. We will have outdoor time on a neighborhood hike up to the Hilltop and visit our local playgrounds Bernal Heights, Holly Park or St Mary's. Towards the end of the day we will be indoors and we will have an afternoon snack provided by Hilltop Creative for the campers.

Parent Night Out will take place on selected evenings of every month from 6:00 - 8:00 pm (or as noted) and will incorporate many types of fine arts over the course of the school year....visual arts. All while parents enjoy a night out! Cost per event is $40 per child, $37 for additional children FROM THE SAME FAMILY. During our last class, we will meet the last 10-15 minutes of class for an Art Show Presentation. Students will present their pieces in an art show to guests. Thanks to this support, we are launching a new, 12-week intensive afterschool program hosted at the College of Southern Maryland (Prince Frederick Campus). We are looking for students in Grades 3–8, who would thrive in a high-engagement environment focused on Social Emotional Arts and Athletics Lessons (S.E.A.A.L). This is a perfect fit for students who need: Intensive Mentorship: Small group settings designed to build deep, supportive connections with dedicated mentors. Farm Camp is run from our 1-acre school farm in the Mission Terrace neighborhood. We provide an opportunity for children to connect with nature while directly participating in the daily rhythms of farm life. Our day camp is designed to inspire a connection with and love of the natural world, and also a chance to get hands dirty in fun and educational ways. Activities include animal care for our chickens, weeding, watering, mulching, harvesting, compost care, crafts and free play. Children should bring snacks and lunch and come prepared to get dirty!
