Palm Springs Hike to an Oasis and Amazing Desert Views

    Palm Springs, CA

I provide bottled water, a snack bar and a clean backpack for everyone. For centuries members of the Cahuilla tribe hiked to these hill tops that overlook the Coachella Valley to send smoke signals to nearby tribes that they traded with. The trails are unnamed, so they're mostly known & used by locals & don't get nearly as busy as the other easy to find hiking trails in Palm Springs during the busy winter/spring tourism season, so it's a much more peaceful hiking area. These are some of the best Palm Springs hiking trails with lots of scenic views of the Coachella Valley & a hike into a hidden Palm tree oasis. I know these trails well & the most scenic viewpoints along the way. You'll see desert vegetation close up & views of the desert valley floor all the way up to beautiful nearby mountain peaks, while getting in some fantastic exercise. Please see all tabs of the Additional Info section for important physical and trail information.

Forest Park Urban Hiking Tour, Portland

    4.8 (79)

    Powered by Viator

    Portland, OR

When tour guests asks us, "what one thing should I not miss in Portland," we pick the 5-mile (8-10 km) hike in Forest Park. No matter what the season, hiking in the park is entering another world right on the borders, and through the fabric, of the city. PLEASE NOTE THIS HIKE HAS 900 FT ELEVATION GAIN We offer two departures, both with varied terrain and about 900 ft (300 meter) elevation gain. The classic hike is focused around a Northwest Portland experience, and ends at the International Rose Test Garden (when in season), the Forest Park Experience at 9 a.m. We have limited 1:30 p.m. departures. Once weekly, we offer an afternoon hike that starts at Goose Hollow, through neighborhoods and up into the park (2:30 p.m.). Both pass iconic spots; Japanese Garden, Pittock Mansion, and Witch's Castle; but take a different approach to the forest. In Forest Park—within minutes leaving the street—you can forget, or wonder at the fact that you are still in a city.

Grand Canyon Hiking Adventure with an Expert Guide

    Powered by Viator

    Flagstaff, AZ

This is not just a tour of Grand Canyon...this is a life-changing experience centered around reconnecting with the great outdoors. Join me in witnessing the natural world in a way that you have never experienced before. Our time together will be spent on the South Rim of Grand Canyon, hiking the beautiful Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge for lunch. We will cover about 5 miles in total, 3 of which will be on the Kaibab Trail after a 1-mile warmup walk to the trailhead. This is an amazing, family-friendly way to be introduced to Grand Canyon in a safe and controlled manner. We will take our time getting out of the Canyon and take as many breaks as needed (or wanted)...this is not an endurance event and in the summer we are regularly faced with 100F+ temps. We will be making several stops along the way, including "Ooh-Ahh Point" for a snack and photo break.

    Private Spearfish Canyon Hike

    5.0 (5)

    Powered by Viator

    Keystone, SD

Hiking in Spearfish Canyon, located in the northern Black Hills of South Dakota, is a truly unforgettable experience. With its towering limestone cliffs, lush vegetation, and cascading waterfalls, the canyon offers a mix of scenic beauty, accessibility, and serenity that sets it apart from other hiking destinations in the United States. Spearfish Canyon is one of the oldest natural canyons in North America—older than the Grand Canyon—and was carved by water over millions of years. Today, its vertical limestone cliffs rise up to 1,200 feet, surrounding hikers with dramatic, enclosed scenery that creates a sense of awe at every turn. Because of its narrow shape and elevation, the canyon has a unique cool, moist microclimate. This supports an unusually diverse range of plant life—over 1,200 species, including mosses, orchids, ferns, and wildflowers. In fall, the canyon bursts into brilliant hues of red, orange, and gold, rivaling famous leaf-peeping destinations.
