During this tour, we will discuss the many interesting theories of how the wood came to be petrified, as well as the amazing exposed strata of the painted desert known as the Chinle Formation. We will also go over the rich native history in the area, as we walk amongst the ancient lands. There are a couple options for hiking the Badlands in the park. Before we visit the park, we take lunch in town and drive old Route 66 via Holbrook. We then take 4 hrs to explore the PFNP and travel North hitting most of the sites. We see 2000 year old Petroglyphs, 216 million year old Crystal trees, and the painted desert/rainbow hills.

Team building!** We'll meet at Terrazza Park in the exclusive community of Lake Las Vegas. Our hike begins alongside the Las Vegas Wash, which features year-round flowing water, ponds, weirs, and lush vegetation that is unique in Vegas's desert landscape. After a half-mile, we'll turn off the main trail and follow a rocky trail up the hillside. Our hike will continue at a casual, scenic pace. Once we crest the ridgeline, we'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the entire Las Vegas valley! Bring your camera! We'll also be joined by my adorable pup, Annie! She's a joyful dog who LOVES to hike! She can't wait to meet you! The hike is about a mile each way, and gains approximately 500 feet of elevation overall. I will provide lights for everyone, and will bring surplus water.

Expand your appreciation for nature. Enjoy a leisurely hike while learning how to identify at least 20 edible and medicinal native plants. Each hike is unique as new plants emerge from week to week and season to season. All participants will receive a digital copy of a recipe featuring a wild plant identified on the hike. All hikes take place at local parks or forests. Hikes will be 5k (3.1 miles) in length. Participants are encouraged to bring comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, sun block, sunglasses, and water to ensure their experience is as enjoyable as possible

On this yoga and hiking adventure we will meet at a designated location and then guests will follow the guide to the trailhead. We'll then go on a 2-2.5 mile hike meandering through a beautiful desert eco-system, learning about plants and animals of the area along the way from our Wilderness First Responder and Utah Master Naturalist guide. Then, on top of the sticky Navajo Sandstone, we'll find a flat spot for a 1 hour yoga and meditation practice. While doing so, we'll have views of Zion National Park, the Pine Valley Mountains, or gorgeous candy cane stripped cliffs. Finally, the group will walk back. ~3-4 our tour. Our 6-day Backpacking Summer Camp for youth in Washington’s Olympic National Park is designed for participants ages 14-18 who are either new or experienced backpackers. (Youth will be grouped with like ages.) This adventure summer camp in Olympic National Park focuses on leadership and outdoor skill-building with teens camping and hiking beside high alpine lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and meadows. Most trips have an opportunity to summit peaks and/or partake in some spectacular sunsets among some breath-taking geological formations.
