We'll warm up on a more popular trail, pausing to enjoy smaller cascades before turning onto a less traveled section of the Park. In the winter, we'll enjoy beautiful glimpses of the surrounding mountains, during the spring we'll pause to enjoy our famous wildflower display, summer brings refreshing swimming holes, and in autumn the beauty of changing leaves. Join us for a guided sledding adventure in our 3-row Subaru Ascent through Rocky Mountain National Park on a 5 - 6 hour private tour with only your party & your guide! On our tour, you'll see a frozen waterfall, we'll drive up the iconic Trail Ridge Road as far as it is opened for the season, go sledding for up to an hour at the Hidden Valley snowplay area, if conditions allow, walk around a frozen Bear Lake or Sprague Lake (both flat & less than a mile), and you'll also visit the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center at the end of your tour. This tour is NOT a hiking tour, and focuses more on driving in the National Park with small strolls throughout. Minimum of 2 guests. *Micro spikes will be used instead of snowshoes and are included for your tour to keep you safe while walking on icy surfaces. The Matanuska Glacier is the largest and most magnificent glacier in Alaska with road access. We will drive you to within about 1/2 mile of the face of the glacier, where we'll start our hike. We'll be hiking on the glacier for two to two and a half hours, and walk about 2 to 3 miles. There is little elevation change, and the hike difficulty is rated as moderate. The glacier is about a two-hour drive from Anchorage. We will stop about half way there for a restroom break, where you will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee and whatever you'd like to have to eat while we're out. Bottled water is provided.
