Unlocking Creativity Through Core Art Foundations Our Elementary Art Education Program is designed to foster creativity and build essential skills through a sequential and cyclical curriculum. By progressively exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, students not only learn art techniques but also develop a deep appreciation for art history. Here's what our young artists will explore: Foundational Concepts: Dive into the Elements of Art and Principles of Design to create visually compelling pieces. Drawing Skills: From observational and perspective drawing to life and figure sketches, students refine their ability to represent the world around them. Students will explore a diverse range of dry media, including graphite, oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal, and ink. Composition and Color: Learn the intricate concepts of 2D composition and color theory to enhance artistic expression. Painting Techniques: Experiment with various media such as acrylics, watercolors, gouache, learning manipulation techniques that bring ideas to life. Art History: Travel through time exploring influential artists, both historical and contemporary, to understand their impact on the art world and society. Authentic Assessment: Engage in assessments that reflect real-world art critique, helping students evaluate and elevate their art. Personal Expression: Encourage self-expressive processes that allow students to communicate personal meaning and narratives through their artworks. Glow in the Dark Art Unleash your creativity in a unique setting at the "In the Dark Art Camp," where young artists are invited to explore the mysterious and captivating world of glow-in-the-dark and UV-responsive art. This immersive art experience encourages campers to step out of the conventional light and dive into techniques that flourish in the dark, stimulating their artistic senses in new and unexpected ways. ​ PLEASE EMAIL REGISTRATION FORM & MEDICAL PRIOR TO THE START OF CAMP.

Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year! Join us on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday each week... or whenever it's convenient for you! We do the same project each of those days for each week, and then something new for the next week!

Sign up for each week- we have a new curriculum each week! Kids will enjoy 4 hours of Art and Art related Activities! Day Camp is a drop off program & for ages 4 and older. Each day includes a variety of Cookies & Canvas event, One Day Workshop, OR Pottery Painting & Open Studio time. Most projects will go home same day. (If they have pottery painting that day, they will need to be picked up following week) Kids enjoy stations as well as several art projects during their 4 hours of fun at the Art Studio! Groups separated by age under K-4 grades, 5-8 grades. Bring peanut free sack lunch, snack & water bottle. Please dress for the weather- as we do take a walk in the neighborhood and eat in the garden on days when we can.

The Kids' Studio class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 8-11, focusing on building foundational art skills while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Students explore drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media through guided projects that introduce important artistic concepts such as composition, color theory, and technique. This class is designed to help young artists develop their skills and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

*Mid-session registration: If you are signing up AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THIS SERIES OF 8 CLASSES, email info@marvegos.com about a possible project conflict before you arrive for class.* This is the same program that is offered later in the afternoon but at a discounted rate. Our school year curriculum for ages 7 to 10 emphasizes form and composition. This program does not require students to have prior art-making experience. There is a one-time, pre-requisite Online Form Class each student who is just starting Fine Art Fundamentals must complete by the third week of classes. This class teaches students about form, values and composition. You will be notified to sign up for this class if this is the first time your child is taking this class.
