In this class, students will get their hands on many different materials to create artwork as they learn and develop their art skills. The elements of art and design will be taught in this fun, laid-back, and very safe environment, taught by a certified art teacher! All supplies are included! Children may bring a water bottle but NO FOOD will be eaten in the studio. ONLY CHILDREN are permitted inside the studio. (Parents must drop off in front of the studio.)

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is recommended for ages 10+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing and anime. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. So in celebration of MLK and our mission to inspire unique expression we’re painting these colorful "Hands of Hope". Students will practice their blending techniques as they depict the colors of the rainbow. Then, after they've learned all about ROYGBIV, they’ll experiment with mixing all those colors together to get an array of skin tones. While exploring color, we see that though there is a whole spectrum of different outcomes, they all contain parts of the same rainbow. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year! Join us on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday each week... or whenever it's convenient for you! We do the same project each of those days for each week, and then something new for the next week!
