LOOKS DELICIOUS Join us for a morning of yummy looking art! At this camp your child will paint a cupcake in the style of artist Wayne Thiebaud using acrylic paint on canvas board. Summer Semester (May-August) This class is recommended for ages 10+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing and anime. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. DRAGONS & UNICORNS Join us for an afternoon of art that is a little magical, a lot of hands on sculpting, and a ton of creativity! At this camp your child will create a magnet or pendant to look like the eye of a dragon. Sculptures will be made using polymer clay which is baked and cooled and then painted all at camp. In this engaging 3-day art workshop, students will explore world cultures through art, geography, and creative storytelling. Using art as a lens, artists will learn how people around the world express identity, place, and experience through visual design. This workshop is designed for children and teens, and groups students by age to support appropriate pacing, skill development, and positive peer connection. Artists will design a personalized artist passport, using self-portraiture to explore identity and representation. They will also create a map-based artwork, tapping into kids’ natural fascination with maps while learning about scale, symbols, and imaginative geography. Additional projects will be inspired by art, patterns, or landmarks from different parts of the world. Throughout the workshop, students will strengthen drawing, painting, and design skills while working with composition, symbolism, and the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. CREATING CHARACTERS Join us for art that is fun, hands on, and a blast of creativity! At this camp your child will create a miniature sculpture inspired by their favorite sanrio character using polymer clay which is baked and cooled and then painted all at camp! Their sculpture can be turned into a keychain or charm. Your child will come home with a completed work of art. Sign up for each week- we have a new curriculum each week! Kids will enjoy 4 hours of Art and Art related Activities! Day Camp is a drop off program & for ages 4 and older. Each day includes a variety of Cookies & Canvas event, One Day Workshop, OR Pottery Painting & Open Studio time. Most projects will go home same day. (If they have pottery painting that day, they will need to be picked up following week) Kids enjoy stations as well as several art projects during their 4 hours of fun at the Art Studio!
