Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

In class we focus on child and player development. your child will learn and develop basic motor skills, fundamental soccer skills, as well as life skills. Players will improve their technical and tactical knowledge of the game as they grow. Come fall in love with the sport of soccer and make friends for years to come in a creative, fun, relaxed and safe environment. For particularly shy children who were not able to translate school into a social circle a soccer team provides an instant set of companions, and a way to experiment with interaction in a safe and healthy environment. Soccer offers a sense of self-esteem and well being children can develop as they see their accomplishments grow.

Campers will be doing a combination of hand-building and pottery wheel projects, learning all about the clay body itself, the full ceramic process, different techniques, and glazing. Get those hands dirty,and do a deep dive into problem-solving skills. Ceramics camps for our 8-11 year olds will run every week of our 10 weeks of summer camp, boasting different projects each week for those who may want to join us for multiple weeks of ceramic fun! Please note that due to the nature of ceramics and the firing process, campers artworks will not be ready to take home on the last day, but will need to be picked up at a later date. We will reach out to notify parents when finished pieces are ready for pick up.

Welcome to Dolphins Swim Camp! Make a splash this summer! Dolphins Swim Camp combines professional swim instruction with all the fun of a traditional summer camp, creating the perfect blend of skill-building, confidence, and adventure for children entering kindergarten through second grade. What Makes Dolphins Swim Camp Special Each day at Dolphins Swim Camp is thoughtfully designed to build water confidence while creating lasting summer memories. Mornings begin with check-in, warm-up activities, and a healthy snack before we head to Carlmont High School Pool for swim instruction Monday through Thursday.. Campers receive age-appropriate swim lessons from qualified instructors, followed by supervised recreational swim time, all under the watchful eyes of certified lifeguards. Two days per week or more, campers are transported to the Belmont Library Playground to explore, play, and enjoy lunch before returning for swim lessons. Fridays do not include swim lessons. Instead, Dolphin campers join Camp Footsteps Junior Explorers for their weekly special event. On Friday afternoons, campers return to the pool for recreational swim time. A Full Day of Fun After swimming, the adventure continues back at our center with a healthy snack and a wide variety of engaging activities, including: Creative arts and crafts Outdoor games and exploration Calm, quiet activities for rest and recharge Every day is filled with movement, creativity, and opportunities to build friendships. This week is FULL-DAY/FULL WEEK only, and runs concurrently with our Museum Masters week of camp. Full-Day hours: 9:00 am- 3:00 pm Extended hours available below (in Extras). Send your child in with a snack, a lunch**, and a water bottle. Join our talented cast of young performers and learn how theater can make everyone the hero of their own story! Broadway Stars was created by a professional performer turned child development specialist with the primary goal of helping children develop the foundational skills and technique every musical theater performer needs while giving them the opportunity to find their voice, build confidence, and do what every budding Broadway Star loves most: PERFORM! Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience both in the classroom and on professional stages, and feature a customized curriculum designed to challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer. WHAT TO EXPECT: --Weeks 1-2 (Jan 5 - Jan 17): Setting the Stage— Families who are new to Stages are invited to join us for a FREE TRIAL the week of January 6-11, 2025. The first two weeks of the semester will focus on learning and perfecting the foundational musical theater skills every Broadway Star needs when performing on stage. Classes will participate in acting games and begin to learn music and choreography for their auditions. These first two weeks of the semester also allow our teachers to get to know students and start to determine which scenes, songs, and roles will be the best fit for each child. --Weeks 3-4 (Jan 19 - Jan 31): I Hope I Get It!-- During weeks 3-4 of the semester, students will participate in a personalized audition process. Auditions at Stages are designed to be a low stress, fun experience where Broadway Stars get to show off what they’ve been learning the first few weeks of the semester and tell us what they are most excited to do in the show. Every audition will look different as every child is different. For children who are new to performing or nervous about auditioning, this will be an informal, low-stakes experience. For children who are older, have been performing for a while, or are ready for a challenge, this will be treated as a more formal audition. How Does This Work? Each class will be assigned specific scenes and songs from from our musical, not the entire musical. Classes will come together for the final performance to perform the show in its entirety. EVERY CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A ROLE OR SPECIAL PART IN THE SHOW. We will work together with participants to make sure they have a speaking line, solo, duet, etc. that they are excited to perform! --Weeks 5-12 (Feb 2 - Mar 21): Putting It Together-- During Weeks 5-12, children will begin putting together their show! Each week, classes will work on their assigned scenes and songs. During these classes, we will focus on learning and rehearsing musical numbers and choreography, blocking acting scenes, and introducing various theatrical elements that will be used in our show such as sets, props, and costumes. Don’t worry, it’s not all work. Classes will also have the opportunity to play theater games designed to introduce new performance skills and brush up on concepts we’ve learned in previous classes. --Weeks 13-16 (April 6 - April 25): Prepping for Opening Night-- Classes will begin running doing “Run Thrus” where they perform all of their scenes and songs from start to finish. We’ll also start adding in transitions so performers know when and how to enter/exit the stage, when to get microphones, make a costume change, or pick up a prop from the prop table. These classes are VERY important and we ask that you do your best to ensure your child is at every class unless they are ill. --Week 17: Tech Week– Monday, April 27 - Thursday, April 30 The week of the show, we will be having rehearsal after school April 27 - April 30 where ALL of the classes are brought together to run the show in the space. These rehearsals will be MANDATORY. *Students in K-2 Classes will not be required to attend every night during tech week. Dates will be confirmed mid-March to give families plenty of time to make arrangements to ensure their child’s attendance. Flipnastics is the perfect class for young athletes, whether they're just starting out or already at an intermediate gymnastics level! Welcome to Camp Footsteps Adventurers! Footsteps Child Care, in partnership with the City of Belmont Parks and Recreation, is excited to offer nine weeks of summer camp designed specifically for older children and youth entering fourth grade through middle school. This summer, we are thrilled to feature specialized classes provided by Lando, including Advanced LEGO Robotics and Clay Studio Lab. Field Trip: Adventure Cat Catamaran Bay Sail & Pier 39, San Francisco Special Event: Footsteps Makers Fair Every day brings something new to discover, learn, and explore—making camp an unforgettable adventure! MONDAY kicks off the week with team-building activities that help campers connect and collaborate, plus Advanced LEGO Robotics (10am-12pm), where they will choose a robotics challenge, plan their build, and test it with real data. Using LEGO® bricks and Technic components (beams, axles, gears, motors, and sensors), they will tune for speed, lift, or control, log test results, and present how each modification improved their design. In the afternoon campers can participate in a group cooking project. TUESDAY features morning hikes through local trails followed by recreational swimming at Highlands Recreation Center. WEDNESDAY is field trip day, with exciting excursions designed for adventure and exploration. Campers will experience thrilling attractions, water activities, outdoor adventures, and even an overnight camping experience! Each trip offers opportunities to build friendships, try new activities, and create unforgettable summer memories. THURSDAY offers flexible time in the morning for activities and games, with afternoon recreational swim time. Tumble 2 is designed to take your athletes tumbling to the next level. Athletes will learn to increase speed and power in running tumble connections. This class will train Roundoff Back Handsprings, Tucks, Layouts and Twisting. Athletes are required to have an unassisted Standing Back Handspring and Power Hurdle Roundoff.
