The Giggling Pig is a place where everyone is welcome to join in the fun and be themselves! So in celebration of MLK and our mission to inspire unique expression we’re painting these colorful "Hands of Hope". Students will practice their blending techniques as they depict the colors of the rainbow. Then, after they've learned all about ROYGBIV, they’ll experiment with mixing all those colors together to get an array of skin tones. While exploring color, we see that though there is a whole spectrum of different outcomes, they all contain parts of the same rainbow.

This week we’re celebrating the truly iconic artist and activist Augusta Savage! Known for her sculptures and influential art gallery, Savage is responsible for educating and encouraging a generation of nationally renowned artists born out of the Harlem Renaissance. We will experiment with the tactile approach of clay by making an antelope bust. Students will expand their sculpting techniques while learning about armature support construction, troubleshooting with different approaches to balance and application. To top it all off, they will add their own lively touch by painting their masterpiece, focusing on value and form.

Students will be given an array of materials to create their love notes, exploring mediums and their imagination to express their unique vision. Camp includes arts and crafts, story time, dramatic play, sensory activities, and lots and lots of fun! Each child will come home with a bag full of art relating to the day's theme. There will be plenty of opportunities to get messy during camp days!

Piglets Playgroup offers our littlest artists their grown-ups the opportunity to create and play together with sensory play and process art. Please note that this is a participatory class with child and their grown-up (and not a drop-off class).

Farm Camp is run from our 1-acre school farm in the Mission Terrace neighborhood. We provide an opportunity for children to connect with nature while directly participating in the daily rhythms of farm life. Our day camp is designed to inspire a connection with and love of the natural world, and also a chance to get hands dirty in fun and educational ways. Activities include animal care for our chickens, weeding, watering, mulching, harvesting, compost care, crafts and free play. Children should bring snacks and lunch and come prepared to get dirty!

Advanced 3D Printing & Design Design smarter. Print better. Build like an engineer. Advanced 3D Printing & Design is designed for students who are ready to go beyond the basics and take their 3D modeling and printing skills to the next level. In this hands-on, project-driven camp, students dive deeper into professional-level CAD design, learning how engineers and product designers create efficient, functional, and refined models. Campers explore advanced concepts such as parametric design, complex assemblies, and design optimization, giving them greater control over how their creations look and perform. Students also gain deeper experience with the 3D printing process itself, learning how advanced slicing settings—like infill patterns, layer height, and print speed—affect strength, detail, and print quality. To finish things off, campers are introduced to post-processing techniques such as sanding, smoothing, and custom finishing to elevate their projects from prototypes to polished products. What students will do: Create advanced CAD models using professional design techniques Build multi-part assemblies and optimized designs Fine-tune print settings for strength, detail, and efficiency Learn post-processing methods to improve finish and durability Bring multiple original designs to life with 3D printing This camp emphasizes problem-solving, iteration, and real-world engineering thinking, making it an excellent next step for students interested in design, engineering, or manufacturing. Prerequisite: Intro to 3D Printing & CAD (or equivalent experience) Ages: 10+ Important note: Due to printing time, some projects may finish after camp hours and will be available for pickup at Silicon STEM. The benefits of construction based activities are astounding for young children. When children are building, they are improving their motor skills and hand-eye coordination, acquiring spatial skills, developing a capacity for creative and divergent thinking, not to mention working on their social and language skills. Children take an immense pride in their creations and hate to clean them up. Well, here, they don't have to! During the Little Builders program, children will have the opportunity to build a new art project each week using different materials, such as wood or clay, that they get to take home with them!

Join us at Playformance for an unparalleled camp experience. We focus on active play, community skills, and joyful play together! At Playformance, we aim to provide the most fun, safest, most wonderful camp out there. Camp hours are from 8:30-2:30 CAMP HOURS: 8:30-2:30 Daily schedule: 8:30 opening circle and community time. Coaches will greet and check children in. If you have any questions or need to discuss PLEASE contact us before camp at camp@playformancetucson.com Children will be outside in the courtyard until 8:40ish. Be sure to label your child's gear! 9:15-10:30 games and activities with coaches and friends - first breakout 10:30-11 snack and break. Children bring snacks from home. Please pack lots of snacks! We no longer have vending machines 11-12 games and activities with coaches and friends - second breakout 12-1:00 lunch breaks and free play 1:00 community game - examples include lip sync battles, performances by coaches, and whole group activities. 1:30 Final breakout activity 2:10 Closing circle and transition outside 2:30 Pickup DROP OFF AND PICK UP LOCATIONS DROP OFF: Drop off is between 8:30-8:35. Park in the lot just east of our building or on 7th and walk your child to the porch where you will be greeted by coaches to check you in. You child will say goodbye and head to our outdoor play space while we wait for all arrivals. PICK UP: Pick up is on our covered porch at 2:25-2:30. Please wait on the porch. LATE?: Families whose children remain at Playformance after 2:35 pm will be charged $20 for each 10 minutes tardy. If you are going to be late PLEASE CALL if you are able so your child doesn't worry. Parking is available to the east of our facility. Kids are not allowed in the parking lot without their adults. All adults picking up children must be on their approved caregiver list. Please let a coach know if they are going home with a friend or walking or riding home on their own. WHAT TO WEAR/ BRING: Wear clothes good for active play and a coat for outdoor morning drop off/community play. SLIP ON SHOES! We are a barefoot gym Please remove jewelry or anything that may be dangerous for your child to wear. Refillable water bottle SNACKS! Bring plenty of snacks for the day. Scheduled snack breaks are offered midmorning but children are able to eat when they need to. BIG NUTRITIOUS LUNCH If your camp is nut free you will be notified. No sugary drinks or soda please. Nutritious food encouraged. NO PHONES or electronics allowed at camp. Children are NOT allowed to have their cell phones and must check them in with a coach at drop off. BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS: Our goal is to create a community of children each week. We hope that every camper leaves camp with new friends and wonderful memories. All campers will be expected to listen and follow the directions of the coaches. This is vital to the wellbeing and safety of your child and the other campers. If your child is struggling we will work with them to help find ways for them to succeed. If the challenging behavior dictates, we will then call a caregiver and work with them to resolve any issues. If the issues continue and our staff feels it is best, the child will be sent home and no refunds will be issued for that day. If your child is sent home, a phone meeting or in person meeting will need to be scheduled for your child to return to the camp community. We will work will all children to be successful at Playformance. We often find the children who need the most support from us are the ones who benefit the most from Playformance. All campers will be expected to be kind towards other campers. We have 2 principles of play at Playformance. 1) We play to have fun and 2) we take care of the people. Any violent aggressive words or actions towards other campers or coaches will not be tolerated. If your child uses violent words and or actions towards another camper they will be sent home for the day. If your child is sent home, a phone meeting or in person meeting will need to be scheduled for your child to return to camp. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's experience at Playformance Camp please make arrangements to talk with a coach before drop off or after pick up. These are the best numbers to reach us during camp hours for urgent matters. ILLNESS POLICY: We will NOT accept children at camp who are sick. We understand that sometimes illness can keep your child out of camp. Any child showing any symptoms of illness including but not limited to fever, headache, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, or excessive tiredness, will be sent home. If in doubt of your child's wellness, please keep them home. Rescheduled reservations may be given to avoid the spread of illness. These are given on a case by case basis and must meet the criteria of the cancelation policy seen below. If you need to cancel due to illness a reschedule may be possible if space permits. You must cancel your reservation 24 hours before the start of camp in order to be eligible for rescheduling. In middle school? Love kids? Join our Coach in Training Program for 12+ middle schoolers looking to develop their leadership skills and have fun with friends! This CIT camp runs parallel to our regular day camp. The CITs will get opportunities to coach and play with the campers in that program. What will they do? CITs get to help set up and plan the camp day and assist with running the games and activities for the campers. They will learn leadership skills, basics of child development, public speaking skills, and much more. Their confidence will grow as they are given opportunities to shine with the younger campers. Each week will also consist of several "CIT only" activities, games, and rewards. CITs will work hard and play hard! Each CIT is assigned to a skilled mentor/coach that will help support and encourage them as they learn to interact and play with younger campers. This duo sticks together and works as a team to make Playformance camp great. Open to responsible and enthusiastic people ages 12-15. CITs must be able to attend both days of the week and be on time. Note: 12 - 15 year olds are welcome as campers as well and do not need to be CIT's in order to learn, grow, and have fun at Playformance Camp. *NEW* Please note time for CIT Camp is 8-2:45pm to allow for time to help set up, plan, and clean up. Regular camp hours are 8:30-2:30.
