About who needs care: Jose is a gentle man living with advanced Alzheimers disease and limited mobility. I am his full-time caregiver, and Iam looking for Saturday help because managing a full day of care alone can become overwhelming. Even assistance with one meal, showering, shaving, changing/dressing, and helping me during hygiene routines would make a huge difference for our family.
I will often be present and helping alongside the caregiver, especially during showers and personal care. I am looking for someone patient, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable with hands-on dementia care. Jose cannot always communicate his needs clearly, so attentiveness and a calm, reassuring approach are very important.
Duties may include feeding assistance, hydration reminders, companionship, incontinence/changing assistance, grooming, and helping keep him comfortable and safe throughout the visit.
We also have two very gentle, docile cats in the home.
About the care needs: We are looking for someone calm, patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working with someone living with advanced Alzheimer's disease. A gentle personality and respectful approach are very important to us, since Jose responds best to reassurance, kindness, and consistency.
Experience with dementia care, personal hygiene assistance, feeding assistance, and hands-on caregiving is strongly preferred. Someone comfortable assisting me as a "two-person team" during showers, shaving, changing, and grooming would be ideal.
We would love someone who understands that caregiving is not just about tasks, but also about helping Jose feel safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity.
