As an educator and Golden Apple Scholar, I am equipped to teach all subject areas- please ask to see my resume. I focus on empowering students to think critically and use their problem-solving skills. I studied elementary education during undergrad and I have my master's degree as well as an English as a Second Language endorsement. I obtained my middle school endorsements in LA, math, science and social studies. I also have a math concentration. I have taught for four years: two years in 1st grade and two year in Kindergarten. I have tutored students in the following grades in math and science: Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th grade. For the 8th grader, we focused on reading, math, science and HSPT preparation. With a passion for swimming and safety, I have my Water Safety Instructor certification. I have been teaching swim lessons for seven years. I love helping children get comfortable and excited about swimming as well as improving their strokes.

Michelle came to our home twice a week all summer to tutor my daughter in math to help her prepare for 7th grade. My daughter is in her school's gifted program, but math was one of her weaker, and least favorite subjects. Thanks to Michelle, my daughter has a better attitude about math and is prepared to succeed this school year. I would definitely recommend hiring Michelle. Michelle was punctual and dependable for every lesson, and most importantly, she made learning fun.
