Messiah Lutheran Child Care Center is a Christian based preschool, kindergarten and child care center providing a quality education with curriculum based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
Messiah's goal is to provide a loving environment conducive to the individual social, emotional, creative, intellectual and spiritual growth of each child in a safe, Christian-oriented atmosphere.
Classes include (but not limited to): Math and reading readiness, STEM, music, weekly chapel and classroom visits with Messiah's Pastor, Spanish, Christian education, cooking, and creative dramatics.
Optional classes available: dance/movement and Kindermusik.
We offer a play-based (games, hands-on, open ended activities) approach to learning, in a stimulating, cheerful environment.
Group activities include circle time (show and tell, calendar, prayer), snacks, music, dance, games and story time.
Daily activities include play dough, painting, open ended art, dress up, creative dramatics, small motor manipulatives, reading and math readiness, science exploration, block building and puzzles.
Messiah has a huge, fenced, outdoor playground area and an indoor activity room for large motor play.
Parent-Tot Class: Messiah's Parent-Tot program is designed to introduce children (18-36) to a classroom experience where there is play, art exploration, stories, music and snack. Parents/caregivers participate with their child for the weekly 1 hour class.
3 year old classes (and younger 3 year old class-children with birthdays after September 1st) offer a full range of age-appropriate, play based, preschool curriculum opportunities. Children need to be toilet trained.
4 year old classes are constructively play-based and offer a full range of age-appropriate, preschool curriculum opportunities designed to ready students for Kindergarten while supporting them in their individual growth, personality and talents.
Our Junior Kindergarten program is designed to give Kindergarten aged children (or those who miss the cut-off) an extra year of school before moving into their Kindergarten year. The Jr. Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes work together on curriculum. Both classes share teachers and classroom.
Our Kindergarten program is designed to prepare students for entering first grade by providing a curriculum of reading readiness, literacy, math, science, social studies and more. Class size and teacher/student ratio allow for optimum opportunity to prepare for elementary school.
