CNA Experienced With Autism, Down Syndrome, Blindness
I currently care for adults that have Autism, Down Syndrome, Blindness and have experience in caring for colostomy bags, IV tube flushing and bandage wound care.
Just as I got into high school, my mom's disease progressed & I watched her life deteriorate quicker than a fallen leaf. She used to be a mountain climber, a waitress, a hunter, a bicyclist, a secretary, and a mother. My mom has progressive multiple sclerosis, a disease that mainly affects the nerves in your spinal cord & attacks all of the nerves. I took care of my mom for 6 years before my oldest sister took over. I bathed my mother, cooked her food & chopped up the hard to chew foods, was responsible for her medications & doctor appointments. The longer the years went on the more care she needed.
Today I work for Volunteer of America as a Direct Support Professional. I'm in home caregiver for adults that are autistic or have down syndrome. The job duties are very similar to what I did with my mother with the exception of
