I have toured a number of facilities and Young Scholars has been the most impressive. I have felt very comfortable here. The owners and teachers are very kind. I have been very grateful that owners and staff have been more than willing to work with my child 1:1 to help her adjust to a new environment. Miss Patty went out of her way to help come up with a plan for my daughter as she was very anxious starting. I don't know that any other facility would make the effort to help her adjust the way Patty and Brian have. I am also very impressed with the curriculum and feel my child will be more than ready to start grade school by the time she leaves Young Scholars Academy. I like the bilingual approach as this is so beneficial for our kids to be exposed to. I haven't seen another place yet that is a child care center but also places so much emphasis on academics and learning. Very impressed and would not ever question the safety or well-being of my child here. I know they care about the kids at this place. It is so valuable to find someone who makes all efforts to meet your child's needs. Very safe, clean, and enriching environment. Thank you Julie T for letting me know about Patty and Brian!

They need to rethink their potty training policy, which is not in line with their competitors and recent studies, as well as the safety of regular size potty usage for toddlers under under 3 years old. Better communication about their activities for toddlers between 2 and 3, should be improved as well. Toddlers should not be changed on a plastic bag, when they pooped. Parents should not get a text message to go and clean their child, if he had a poop accident. Parents should not be told that is ok for their toddler to have a full diaper of pee, as long as in not hanging down...All of this happened to us, so we decided to leave after we politely addressed these to Miss Patty, who asked us to look for another place. Other than this the place looks nice, clean and spacious. No outside playground and no meals provided. For similar prices you get these extra items at their competitors.

Although we have been politely communicating on a daily basis for the past several weeks with the objective to resolve your concerns, please allow us to respectfully address your review.
Before you enrolled your child at our school, you had the opportunity to tour our facilities, ask questions, evaluate us and make a decision. You enrolled your child acknowledging that he was being potty trained. It was never mentioned that you expected us to keep him without a diaper or pull-up on all day. On day one we discussed the possibility of your child having an accident and the health issues that it would impose on all the other two year old children in the classroom. You explained that urine wasn't a contaminating factor and that people sometimes drink it for survival. Because we strive to maintain a good relationship with our costumers, we agreed to try it for a week or two depending on your child's ability to stay dry. Your child had several urine accidents, which we cleaned and sanitized. The first time he had a poop accident, we made you aware and politely asked you to come and take care of it, as you were confident that he was not going to have an accident. You apologized and acknowledged that it was even uncomfortable for yourself to change him. The second time he had a poop accident you ignored our text message. Your child needed a bath. We changed, cleaned and sanitized your child. After it was obvious that your child was not potty trained, you agreed to allow us to put a pull-up on him with the understanding that we would do our best to constantly take him to the bathroom and try our best to keep him dry. This took an enormous amount of time and effort. We also agreed to allow you to bring a toilet ring for your child to sit on, which created even more work for us as we then had to clean, sanitize and storage it after each use. This was a constant process as we were trying to keep him dry as agreed. The height of our toilets is lower than the average and our diaper change policy follows the state of Utah licensing rules. When you came to pick up your child shortly after he woke up from his nap, his diaper was wet. Non-potty trained children wet their diapers when they're asleep. It was obvious that your child had only gone once or twice in his diaper as the diaper wasn't full. We're sorry that our best efforts and genuine love and care for your child was not enough to satisfy your needs.
Unfortunately, there's not enough room here to address the rest.

We love Young Scholars Academy! My son and daughter have had a wonderful experience there. They love going to school and have so much fun learning and playing. The owners and teachers truly care about the kids. It a beautiful, safe and clean school. As a teacher, I know my kids are getting the best preschool education around. Patty really makes sure the kids are not only ready for Kindergarten but far ahead academically. We are so happy they offer daycare options so our kids can get an awesome preschool education along with before and after school care. I would recommend this school to anyone!

I honestly can't say enough great things about Young Scholars Academy. My daughter was there from the time they opened until the end of last summer. It was hard to say goodbye, but 1st grade awaited. The Frehner's (owners) and all of the teachers are the most professional, caring, loving people I have ever met. They truly care about the kids they teach and make sure that they are successful. They have so much patience, and as we all know, that's a must in this business. My daughter was reading and speaking Spanish early on. She was happy to go to school everyday and that made things easy. I never had to worry about her well being while she was there. I could go to work, focus and rest easy knowing she was in the best hands. The facility is amazing as well. All of the different rooms make learning even more fun. It's always clean and well kept. Top notch in every way. I would recommend YSA to anyone and everyone. There is NO better school out there. In fact, I think it's very safe to say that there's not ONE that can even compare. Sending my daughter here was the BEST decision I've ever made. WE LOVE YSA!!!

Very poor professionalism. The Burneys' claim to have a heart for the people and for the parents but when I asked for dates that their facility was going to be closed and questioned where MY portion of funds where distributed to, my daughter got removed from the center and I got banned from the premises. They ARE NOT willing to work with you. They ARE NOT understanding about situations. They lie when it is to protect them and scam people out of money by giving late notices of when the facility is closed after you have paid your money for the month. Seemed like very nice people at first but I guess that is anyone when trying to get your business. The workers were awesome. Definitely not a reflection of the owners.

Young Scholars Academy is not associated with anyone by the last name of Burney. We strongly believe this review was done in error, perhaps it was intended for another academy. We take pride in our excellent customer service practices. Our clients and students are our number one priority. Our 5 star rating is a reflection of our outstanding customer service. In addition, we don't recognize the name of the person who wrote this review.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Young Scholars Academy! I have always been a bit hesitant to put my kids into a daycare/school setting & I can honestly say I have been nothing but happy with my experience with Young Scholars Academy. The staff is great, the curriculum is excellent, & the facility is beautiful. I love knowing my kids are getting more than just a 'babysitter'. They are learning, growing, & Patty makes it so easy for me to. E able to follow along and work at home with my kids the same things they are working on in school.

We have absolutely loved Young Scholars Academy! Our daughter runs in without saying goodbye which is huge for us! The teachers are so kind and attentive to the kids. We have loved the small class sizes where she gets individualized attention and has learned so much. Our daughter gets so excited and teaches us all that she has learned at preschool. They really do an amazing job at making learning a fun and happy experience. I wound and do recommend Young Scholars Academy to everyone! You will not regret taking your child here!

My now 4 year old attends one of the preschool classes offered here. I'm always amazed at what she's learned, and she loves school! Her teachers are very sweet and I absolutely love that she gets so much one on one time with them. I highly recommend Young Scholars Academy!

We transferred my son from Montessori to this school. We had our concerns because he was doing so well at his old school. After only a few weeks he had learned more at Young Scholars Academy than months at Montessori. They have a low student to teacher ratio, so the kids get a lot of individual attention. He has been practicing Spanish and loving his time at this school.

We have lived all over the country and I can say without a doubt this is one of the VERY BEST preschools we have ever had our children attend. Just today I listened in amazement as my daughter sang songs and answered questions in another language. She is reading, and is far above kindergarten standards. She turns 5 next week and is already well beyond what is expected at the end of kindergarten. She loves going to school and is upset on Saturday mornings when she finds out that she doesn't have school. The owners are the most caring people and truly love my children. I love knowing that I can go to work and not have to worry about the environment my children will be in. I know they are loved and very well cared for. This is the greatest place I have had my kids and I am so grateful to Patty and Bryon for doing what they do.
